It was confirmed by the police in Dearborn that officers had responded to the scene of the shooting and were treating it as an ongoing investigation.
According to the police statement, “This is an active and ongoing investigation. We request citizens to keep away from the area as we are securing the area and conducting our investigation.”

Customers Fled for Cover
The videos that went viral on social media captured customers running around in the mall during the shooting. According to witnesses, some of the customers and employees found safe havens in stock rooms and other enclosed spaces while awaiting the arrival of the police.

Henry Ford Medical Center-Fairlane Was Also on Lockdown
As a security measure, Henry Ford Medical Center-Fairlane was put on lockdown, as confirmed by medical center officials.
According to local media, the wounded victims from the shooting were rushed to Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital.
