Dhurandhar fame actress Ayesha Khan who appeared in the special song of the film, ‘Shararat’ has claimed over social media that she has been detained by Mumbai Police. She claimed that she was just standing on the road around the protest linked with Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement. She shared multiple videos of the incident where she has been taken to police custody, however, Mumbai Police has not responded to the incident till now.
Actress Ayesha Khan claims Mumbai Police detained her near a CJP protest, sharing videos stating she was merely standing peacefully. Mumbai Police have not yet officially responded to the incident.
Actress Shares Videos From Inside Police Van
Ayesha Khan can be seen saying in the video on shared on social media, “My hands are shivering right now. I have been detained in a police van for just standing on the road peacefully. I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even start the protest. I was just standing because my brother and my male friends were detained.”
She also shared other moments of the detention in which she can be seen asking the police why she is being detained. “Everyone is in the van with no explanation. Koi answer nahi hai kisike pass. Mene toh kuch bola hi nahi. I was just standing on the road and I was pulled and pushed by 4 to 5 women, left, right, centre, just for standing on the road,” she said.
While sharing another, she posted on social media, “Unfortunately, it took 4 police women to pull me in. But I ask the same question again, why? Did I make a noise? Did I even start a conversation? Detained me for what? For standing on the road? Wasn’t even in the group of 5!”
Support for CJP Protest
Earlier, Ayesha Khan also shared on social media to support the students in the ongoing CJP protest in Delhi, while sharing the video she captioned it, “I request the paps and the media to highlight this news; only you can make people aware of what’s happening in the country. It’s so unfortunate that I had no idea about this too. We are so lost in glamour, beauty, and controversies that we often end up being avoidant of the things that actually need our attention.”
Ayesha Khan’s video is getting viral on social media, although there is no official statement or any perception from Mumbai Police. Multiple celebrities like Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj, Javed Akhtar, Omi Vaidya have shown open support to the CJP protest.
