Rapper Nicki Minaj endorsed President Donald Trump at a Michigan rally on Sunday, praising his leadership for bringing hope and improving the country’s mood, while also advocating for children’s exclusion from gender transition discussions. Trump reciprocated by complimenting Minaj onstage.

“He represents resilience,” she said, adding that many people had begun to lose hope before his return. She credited Trump with changing the country’s mood and offering what she described as a brighter future for Americans and their children.
Minaj urged the audience to cheer for the president and openly expressed her admiration for him.
She also spoke about children and gender transition, saying parents wanted their children to grow up in a country they could be proud of. She called for children to be left out of discussions surrounding sex changes.
Calling it an honour to stand with Trump, the rapper made her position clear, saying she would continue to support him.

Trump also turned his attention to Minaj during the event, commenting on her appearance and asking her to stand up in front of the crowd.
“Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” he said, before describing her as beautiful and smart.
The exchange added to the attention surrounding the rapper’s appearance, which saw her openly voice her support for the president.
The rally was not the first time Minaj had drawn attention online in connection with the White House.
Before the event, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung shared a video featuring himself and Minaj aboard Air Force One. In the caption, he jokingly suggested that the rapper could be the next White House press secretary.
