Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday announced that Bhadohi district will now be known as Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Sunday that Bhadohi district will now be known as Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, honoring the medieval saint. The change was announced during an event where development projects worth over Rs 1,340 crore were inaugurated.
Making the announcement at a programme in the district, Adityanath said, “Now our Bhadohi district will be called Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi.”
CM Announces Name Change At Development Event
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement while addressing a gathering in Bhadohi, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 112 development projects with a combined value of more than Rs 1,340 crore.
Adityanath linked the renaming of the district to Sant Ravidas, the medieval saint known for his spiritual teachings and message of social unity. He said the district would now carry the name of the revered saint, whose legacy continues to influence people across the country.
“On the occasion of Guru Purnima, we had said that Bhadohi district, currently known for its carpet industry, would in the future be known by the name of Satguru Ravidas ji Maharaj, a medieval saint who united society through his spiritual devotion.”

Yogi Adityanath Targets Samajwadi Party
Attacking the Samajwadi Party, the UP Chief Minister said, “The funds currently being spent on the development of pilgrimage sites and the beautification and preservation of heritage landmarks are the very same funds that, prior to 2017, were not utilised for such work. Instead, they were used to encroach upon land in the name of constructing boundary walls for graveyards.”
