Jammu and Kashmir witnessed another terror attack in Kulgam district where to non local workers were targeted and attacked in the valley.
A terror attack in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, targeted two non-local Hindu labourers, killing Deepak from Chhattisgarh and injuring Bhopinder. Investigations focus on suspected LeT/TRF militant Mohammed Lateef as intensifying search operations are underway under Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
According to police sources, the attackers allegedly asked the names of migrant labourers before separating two Hindu workers from the group and shooting them at close range.
One labourer from Chhattisgarh was killed in the attack, while another suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Security forces have launched a massive search operation to trace those responsible.

Attack Targeted Non-Local Labourers
The Police sources stated that several migrant workers were present at the work site in the Kellam area of Kulgam when the terrorist arrived.
The attackers allegedly questioned the workers about their identities and separated two Hindu labourers from the rest before opening fire. Officials suspect the victims may have been targeted after being identified by their religion.

One of the victims, Deepak, a resident of Chhattisgarh, died in the attack. The injured labourer, Bhopinder, was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, for advanced treatment.
Authorities have not yet officially confirmed all aspects of the attack, and investigations are continuing.
Probe Focuses on Suspected Terror Operatives
In News18 exclusive, Police sources said investigators suspect the involvement of one local terrorist and one foreign terrorist in the attack.

The investigation is reportedly focusing on Mohammed Lateef, who is believed to have joined the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF) last year.
Security agencies are examining all available evidence to establish the sequence of events, identify the attackers and determine whether others were involved in planning the assault.
Lieutenant Governor Orders Intensified Operations
Following the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the security situation and said he had spoken to Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and other senior security officials.
Condemning the attack, Sinha described it as a cowardly act of terrorism and directed security agencies to intensify operations against those responsible.
He said the area had been cordoned off and a search operation was underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Lieutenant Governor also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased labourer and wished a speedy recovery to the injured worker.
Congress Condemns the Attack
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also condemned the incident.
He said attempts by terrorists to spread fear must be defeated and stressed the need to ensure the safety of innocent civilians working in the region.
Police and security forces have sealed the area and are carrying out extensive search operations in and around Kulgam.
