National para athlete Chirag Tyagi was found dead in Ghaziabad under suspicious conditions on Friday evening, prompting a police inquiry. Officers recovered the body from the Sai Upvan area under Kotwali police station limits. Kotwali SHO Sachin Kumar said police received information about the body at around 7 pm. During an initial check, officers noticed a hole or injury mark on the back of the athlete. Police have not yet confirmed whether this was caused by a firearm or by some other object.

According to police sources, Chirag Tyagi left a hostel in Delhi earlier on Friday. The athlete was reportedly heading towards Basantpur Sathli in Muradnagar, the native village, when the incident took place.
