Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted India’s transformation into a global innovation powerhouse while speaking at the inauguration of the Bharat Innovates event in Nice, France.
At the Bharat Innovates event in Nice, France, PM Narendra Modi highlighted India’s transformation into a global innovation hub, stressing the strong India-France partnership and launching Bharat Innovates to connect Indian talent with global opportunities. French President Macron praised India’s technological progress, including the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Addressing entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and policymakers, he said India is no longer simply adopting ideas and technologies developed by others but is actively building solutions for some of the world’s biggest challenges.
PM Modi also underlined the strength of the India-France partnership, calling it a relationship built on trust, shared values and a common vision for the future.
India-France Ties Built on Shared Vision
During his address, the Prime Minister said that many countries maintain relationships based on trade and strategic interests, but only a few partnerships are founded on deeper principles and long-term goals. According to him, the friendship between India and France is one such example.

He described the partnership as a unique combination of “connection and conviction” that goes beyond diplomacy and business. The two nations, he said, have worked together on important global issues ranging from security cooperation to climate action and sustainable development.
PM Modi noted that India and France have collaborated on several international initiatives, including the International Solar Alliance, while also strengthening cooperation in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

The Prime Minister stressed that innovation has become a defining feature of modern India. He said the country is witnessing a remarkable startup revolution, driven by young entrepreneurs who are creating solutions that can improve lives not only in India but across the globe.
“India is innovating for a sustainable future. India is innovating for the world,” PM Modi said during his speech.
He added that India’s youth are playing a major role in building technologies and businesses that address challenges related to healthcare, sustainability, digital services and economic growth.
Bharat Innovates to Connect Indian Talent With Global Opportunities
PM Modi explained that the Bharat Innovates platform has been launched with the goal of taking the ideas and innovations of young Indians to the global stage. The initiative aims to connect startups and innovators with international investors, research institutions and industry leaders.
According to him, Bharat Innovates will act as a bridge between Indian talent and European capital, creating new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
The platform is expected to showcase promising startups from India’s top educational and technical institutions while helping them build partnerships with global companies and venture capital firms. It will also provide access to worldwide innovation networks and encourage the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Macron Praises India’s Technological Progress
French President Emmanuel Macron, who jointly inaugurated the event with PM Modi, also spoke about India’s impressive achievements in science and innovation.
Praising India’s successful Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission, Macron said the country has demonstrated outstanding scientific and technological capabilities that have attracted global attention. He described India’s innovation journey as an inspiration and recognised its growing influence in shaping the future of technology.
Macron also congratulated PM Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister since independence, highlighting the strong and evolving partnership between the two nations.
Strengthening Cooperation in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The Bharat Innovates event in Nice brought together startups, venture capital firms, researchers, business leaders and policymakers from India, France and several other countries. The programme is part of broader efforts to deepen cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship and advanced technology.
