Spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya on Friday claimed that had Operation Sindoor continued for two more days, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would be integrated with India.

Rambhadracharya was speaking at the Shriram Katha in Lucknow, which was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the city unit of the BJP said in a statement.

Rambhadracharya, the founder and head of Tulsi Peeth in Chitrakoot, is a renowned Hindu spiritual leader, educator and writer of more than 100 books.

“During Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s tenure, nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were destroyed under Operation Sindoor. Had this operation continued for two more days, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would have been integrated into India,” he said in his address.

India launched Operation Sindoor, a military exercise to destroy terror infrastructure in Pakistan in May 2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives in April of that year.

Rambhadracharya said that when Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi expressed his desire to offer ‘Guru Dakshina’ (a traditional offering to a teacher) at the time of his ‘deeksha’, he said that he wanted PoK back in India, the statement said.

Pointing towards the defence minister, Rambhadracharya said, “You are a Kshatriya, and the responsibility of defending the nation rests on your shoulders.”

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will again form a government in 2029 and Rajnath Singh would once more serve as defence minister.

He also demanded that Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University be granted central university status and that Ramcharitmanas be declared a national scripture.

“Ram is the symbol of the nation’s well-being,” he said.

In his address, Rajnath Singh said that he knew Jagadguru Rambhadracharya for the past three decades.

Singh said he never witnessed such a remarkable memory and extraordinary talent anywhere else in the world.
