Security agencies have intensified surveillance in Delhi and Uttarakhand after intelligence inputs warned of a possible terror threat targeting important public locations. According to sources in the intelligence establishment, an alert has been issued following an email that allegedly mentioned several sensitive sites, including temples, government offices and police installations.

Security agencies have intensified surveillance in Delhi and Uttarakhand following intelligence warnings of a possible terror threat, allegedly from Khalistani terrorists, targeting sensitive locations, prompting investigations into the email’s authenticity and source.

Authorities have stressed that the alert is precautionary, and investigations are underway to verify the authenticity of the threat and identify its source.

Intelligence Inputs Trigger High Alert

According to intelligence sources, the warning was received through an email that allegedly referred to possible attacks by Khalistani terrorists.

The reported threat mentioned several locations in Delhi and Uttarakhand, including temples, government establishments, railway stations and police facilities.

Sources also said the email reportedly contained references to political leaders and other important public places, prompting security agencies to take immediate preventive measures.

Officials have not publicly confirmed the credibility of the email, and investigations are continuing.

Delhi and Uttarakhand Police Increase Security

Following the intelligence alert, police forces in both Delhi and Uttarakhand have been placed on heightened vigilance.

Security arrangements at sensitive locations are being reviewed, with additional personnel deployed at places considered vulnerable.
Authorities are also strengthening surveillance around important government buildings, transport hubs and religious sites as a precaution.

According to sources, the Delhi Police has launched an investigation to trace the origin of the email and determine whether the threat is genuine or a hoax.

Investigation Underway

Investigators are examining technical evidence, including the email’s origin, digital trail and communication details.

Cyber experts and intelligence officials are working together to identify the sender and establish whether the message has links to any known extremist or terrorist organisations.

Officials have not announced any arrests or confirmed the involvement of any group at this stage.

Similar Alerts Were Issued Earlier This Year

This is not the first time intelligence agencies have issued such precautionary alerts.
Ahead of Republic Day celebrations in January, security agencies warned of possible attempts by proscribed Khalistani organisations and Bangladesh-based terror groups to target Delhi and several other cities during the national event.

As a result, security was significantly tightened across the capital, with additional checks at important public places, transport hubs and government buildings.

February Alert Focused on Red Fort Area

A similar intelligence alert was also issued in February following inputs about a possible terror threat near Delhi’s Red Fort.

According to intelligence sources at the time, religious places around Chandni Chowk, including temples, were considered potential targets.

Security agencies had also reportedly kept a close watch on possible threats linked to Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), particularly around heritage and religious sites in the national capital.

Authorities Urge Vigilance

Although the latest alert has prompted increased security measures, authorities have not asked the public to panic.

Police and intelligence agencies continue to monitor the situation while verifying the information received through the email.

Officials have advised citizens to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious person, object or activity to the nearest police station or emergency authorities.
Security agencies have reiterated that preventive action is a routine part of intelligence-based policing and that investigations will determine whether the latest threat has any credible basis.
