According to officials, the child had been returning from school with grandparents when a car stopped nearby. Several people allegedly persuaded the girl to sit in the vehicle and then left the spot. The elderly grandparents cried for help, and nearby CCTV cameras captured the sequence.
Once the complaint reached the station, Mohali Police checked video from cameras across the locality without delay. Teams followed the route of the car using the footage and other technical inputs.
