Rocking Star Yash, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s new movie Ramayana: Part 1 opened on Wednesday evening with premieres. Well, the film has garnered highly-positive reviews from critics, cinephiles and fans.

An adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana, the movie, on a rare note, projects Ravana like an anti-hero. He gets good screen presence like the way the hero Ranbir Kapoor gets for the role of Lord Rama.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana (portrayed as an anti-hero), adapts the Hindu epic to highly-positive reviews for its spectacular visuals, grand scale, and music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Ramayana Movie Review What s Good What s Bad In Yash Ranbir s Film

People are hailing the performance of Yash as Ravana, Ranbir as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita. Also, Ravi Dubey (Lakshmana) and Rakul Preet (Shurpanaka) are praised for their performance. Sunny Deol’s character of Lord Hanuman is a surprise package.

The movie has two-time Oscar-award winning musician AR Rahman along with Hanz Zimmer. Nitesh Tiwari has directed the mega-budget project which has high-quality visuals.

The film has garnered good response for its trailer. With several big names in the cast, Ramayana has managed to draw the public attention. Will it live up to the viewers’ expectations? Find out:

Adheera: First Half : 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

A Big Win for BRAHMA AI! 🔥

Trust me, it won’t even feel like you’re watching a dubbed version!

KANNADA VERSION JUST 💥

#Yash #YashBOSS #Ramayana

CineHub: BELIEVE IT OR FAINT OR BE JEALOUS🧨

The PRE CLIMAX FIGHT of Jatayu and Raavana in #Ramayana is 10X BIGGER THAN anything that we have ever seen in Indian Cinema and this SCENE alone is WORTH YOUR TICKET 😭🔥

#NiteshTiwari has OVERTAKEN EVERYONE, I REPEAT EVERY DIRECTOR OF INDIA even #SSRajamouli in terms of VISION, SCALE and GARGANTUAN CANVAS HERE. All the Indians specially in Mass belts are going to CRY when Jatayu dies in the end and this alone will ensure people buying tickets for the film in the NEXT TWO MONTHS. These words are not enough to define this SEQUENCE 🙏🏻

AB INDIAN CINEMA KA MUSTAQBIL RAMAYANA TAYY KAREGA ✅

Aavishkar: #RAMAYANA PART ONE Review: Not Just the Finest Cinematic Adaptation of the Epic, But an Extraordinary Experience!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 (4.5 Stars)

Adapting the Ramayana is one of the biggest challenges any filmmaker can take on. There are countless expectations, interpretations, opinions and sentiments attached to this story. Glad to note director Nitesh Tiwari handles the responsibility with remarkable conviction. He delivers a film that does justice to the story and gives us something we can genuinely be proud of.

RAMAYANA has grandeur, emotion and an engaging narrative. The action sequences are slick, the world-building is impressive and the film has several moments that truly hit home. And I am already genuinely excited about Part Two now, which promises even more drama, conflict and epic battles (as many of us already know)

Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram is excellent. He brings sincerity and conviction to the character and does complete justice to the role. Those who had doubts about his casting should definitely watch his performance. Sai Pallavi is exceptional as Maa Sita. There is a certain grace and divinity in her presence that makes her stand out. Yash as Ravana is terrific. His screen presence is commanding and he brings tremendous intensity to the character. Rakul Preet as Shurpanakha is a welcome addition and delivers a good supporting performance. Overall, the cast does justice to the characters they portray.

I wasn’t really impressed with the songs, but the background score is outstanding. Especially during the emotional and action sequences, the music elevates the cinematic experience considerably. A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer have done a phenomenal job. On the flip side, some action sequences may seem lengthy but they don not at all mar the experience.

Full marks to Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for backing a project of this scale and ambition. Their conviction in the subject, the vision to bring together an international team and the sheer effort invested in realising this world deserve appreciation. Their belief in the project has clearly translated onto the screen.

On the whole, RAMAYANA PART ONE is grand, emotional, engaging and visually spectacular. More importantly, it is a film that makes you feel proud of the scale of Indian cinema. A promising beginning to an epic that deserves to be experienced on the biggest screen possible.

DON’T MISS IT IN CINEMAS!

Harminder 🍿🎬🏏: #Ramayana Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

#NiteshTiwari proves his mastery with this giant of a film that scores high on almost every department- Be it the music by #HansZimmer and #ARRahman or the unparalleled visual effects by #DNEG.

As for the performances, #RanbirKapoor is spectacular as #LordRam bringing a beautiful combination of grace, restraint and authority. His fight sequence with the tree demons is a sight to behold!

#SaiPallavi is equally impressive as Sita. This is easily one of her finest performances as an actor.

#Yash makes a commanding impression as #Ravana, with the right intensity and screen presence required for the character. The way his confrontation with #Jatayu has been shot is unforgettable!

#VivekOberoi and #RakulPreetSingh add further strength to the ensemble, making their respective characters engaging and memorable.

What works particularly well in the film is the attention given to the emotional significance of individual episodes.

A project of this magnitude comes with enormous expectations, and Ramayana rises to the challenge.

Credit goes to producer #NamitMalhotra for bringing India’s greatest tale on the big screens and turning it into a global spectacle. This one cannot be missed!

Dhruwal Patel: #Ramayana REVIEW 🏹
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Direction: Nitesh Tiwari treats the epic with real reverence. He never loses the devotion beneath the spectacle, and every big moment is earned, not forced.

Performances: Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama is calm, graceful and deeply moving. Yash’s Ravana owns the screen with power and menace. Sai Pallavi’s Sita brings warmth and soul, and Ravi Dubey’s Lakshman is pure loyalty and fire.

Emotion: It hits hard. Be ready for tears.
Action: Massive scale, edge of the seat, and staged on a level Indian cinema hasn’t attempted before.

Divine moments: Goosebumps every time. You will feel divine again and again.

VFX and visuals: World-class. The tech serves the faith; it never overpowers it.

Music: A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer lift every moment.

Verdict: A new benchmark for Indian cinema. I wish I could share a glimpse, but this is a theatre experience. Watch it on the biggest screen you can find.

Cineloka: #Ramayana Interval.

A Good & Engaging First Half with Impressive Visuals.

Yash’s introduction is Fantastic and Ranbir Kapoor is Superb as Rama. Both make a strong impression, making it an Enjoyable watch so far.

MNV Gowda: #Ramayana : Heard exclusively,
@TheNameIsYash
sir owns the screen for 60-70 minutes🔥. The first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes are pure fire mode💥

We’re yet to witness his full potential! 👑🔥

The Cinéprism: Now Watching #Ramayana

The interval block broke my heart 💔

Mukesh Chhabra CSA: Watched #Ramayana and honestly, what a beautiful film! The magic that has been created is truly unbelievable. All of you are going to feel so happy and proud of this film. It’s pure magic. Just wait and watch! ❤️ 🧿🙏❤️ Don’t want to say anything more. Just wait. ❤️

Films Discourse: #Ramayana: The first 45 minutes are an out-and-out Yash show! His screen presence is extraordinary, & he is simply too powerful on screen. The action blocks are absolutely insane.

Ranbir also gets a fantastic entry and the film beautifully establishes his bond with Jatayu right from Ram’s birth.

Not a single dull moment so far. What a start! 🔥

Pragya Jaiswal: Had the opportunity to be a part of the screening of #Ramayana, and I’m truly speechless!❤️
One of the most spectacular films I’ve ever watched and undoubtedly a landmark for Indian cinema. I’m still spellbound and humming the songs!

The entire cast have left us speechless. #RanbirKapoor as Ram was divine,
@TheNameIsYash
as Ravana was majestic and powerful, and
@raviedubey
as Lakshmana brought so much charm and humour with his brilliant performance.
@Sai_Pallavi92
as Sita was portrayed with such grace and purity. And my absolute favourite, my dear friend
@Rakulpreet
, was simply beautiful and impactful!

A huge congratulations to
@niteshtiwari22
for bringing this timeless epic to life so beautifully, and to
@malhotra_namit
for his incredible vision.

The film fills me with immense happiness and pride as an Indian. My heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for creating something so extraordinary and bringing our rich culture and heritage to life on such a magnificent scale.
Everyone, do experience #Ramayana in theatres and shower it with all your love. Wishing the entire team tremendous success! 🙏🏻✨

Dhruwal Patel: Hollywood make an epic, we do celebrate. India make one, we tear it apart before it releases. Thats the white supremacy we still carry, only the West gets our applause. #Ramayana is our history at a global scale. We havent seen our own history on screen at this scale, so none of us really knows how Ayodhya and Lanka looked like. Yet everyone is already an expert on whats “wrong”
Watch first, judge later. Be proud. 🙏🏹

Ashish Chanchlani: The jatayu and raavan fight scene in #Ramayana is alone worth your admission price
Its thrilling and heartbreaking specially on the imax screen

Harsh ✨: Oh Ranbir how much you gonna make us cry 😭😭😭
This is Ranbir Kapoor show in first half if we are discussing about emotions…
You can’t stop your tears and smile 😭❤️🪔

Does #Ramayana do justice to the timeless epic that holds a special place in the hearts of millions?… The answer is a BIG YES.

Director #NiteshTiwari delivers a cinematic spectacle that celebrates the glory of #Indian culture and the eternal triumph of good over evil… Watertight screenwriting and an engrossing narrative keep you hooked throughout.

You are captivated not merely by the awe-inspiring visuals and monumental scale, but also by the film’s soul… That emotional and spiritual connect is what sets #Ramayana apart.

There are several standout sequences that blend visual grandeur with devotion, drama, and deeply moving moments [no spoilers] –
⭐ The sequence between Brahma and Ravana in the beginning, followed by Ravana staking his claim on Lanka.
⭐ The forest fight between Lord Rama and the rakshasas.
⭐ The Sita Swayamvar.
⭐ The deeply emotional pre-interval portion featuring King Dashrath, Kaikeyi, and Lord Rama.
⭐ The action sequence between Ravana and his brother-in-law Vidyutjeev.
⭐ The Shurpanakha episode.
⭐ The Ravana – Jatayu fight on the Pushpaka Vimana.

The songs, composed by #ARRahman, are seamlessly woven into the narrative, complementing the mood and emotional tone of the film.

The background score by #HansZimmer and #ARRahman is terrific… It amplifies the drama, heightens the emotional impact, and lends the narrative a sweeping, larger-than-life quality.

Academy Award-winning visual effects powerhouse #DNEG deserves distinction marks for its phenomenal work… They raise the bar, delivering one of the most breathtaking visual experiences ever witnessed on the #Indian screen.

The action sequences deserve brownie points, too, combining scale, intensity, and spectacle… The production design is equally impressive, creating a world that stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of global cinema.

#SaiPallavi brings dignity and strength to her role, while her naturalistic performance lends tenderness and warmth to the emotional moments.

#Yash is in superb form… His imposing screen presence and sheer intensity make him a formidable force, lending the antagonist the larger-than-life stature the character demands.

#RavieDubey is excellent… He brings remarkable conviction and sincerity to the role… His earnest portrayal makes the character both engaging and endearing.

#RakulPreet is first-rate, delivering a performance that is sure to make an impact.

A lot has been said and written about #SunnyDeol’s presence in the first part of #Ramayana… I won’t reveal anything here – just watch the film!

#ArunGovil is perfectly cast… It’s wonderful to see him on the big screen after a gap.

#Shobhana is excellent… #LaraDutta is superb… #VivekOberoi makes his presence felt… #SheebaChadha is effective… #AjinkyaDeo is solid.

⭐ Final word? #Ramayana is not merely a film… IT’S AN EXPERIENCE, a film that makes #India proud… An incredible cinematic achievement that is sure to captivate audiences across the world… Watch it on the largest screen possible!

#NamitMalhotra deserves special appreciation for backing a film that matches international standards in scale, visual grandeur, and technical excellence.

Already looking forward to the second part of #Ramayana, which arrives in #Diwali 2028.
