Since the last 2 years, there were speculations that Ranbir Kapoor has signed Dhoom 4 and it will be his next project after Ramayana, but now the actor has totally denied being casted in Dhoom 4. While speaking during the promotions of Ramayana at San Diego Comic-Com, Ranbir Kapoor said that the films he is working are just Ramayana and Love and War. He didn’t even mention Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park.
Ranbir Kapoor Clears the Air on Upcoming Films
The Ramayana team, including director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and leading actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash recently attended Hollywood’s big event San Diego Comic-Con where they presented the trailer of the film.
While during the interaction with Review Nation YouTube channel, the host asked about the upcoming projects of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. Host mentioned that Yash will star in Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups, while Ranbir Kapoor will be seen Dhoom 4. To correcting the host, Ranbir said, “No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. Which is directed by Mr Sanjay Bhansali. That should be out on January 24 next year.”
Ranbir mentioned only Ramayana and Love & War which are slated to release, he didn’t even mention the sequel of his 2023 released film Animal, Animal Park. In 2024, there were reports that producer Aditya Chopra is considering Ranbir Kapoor as the leading role in Dhoom franchise next part and even the discussions have taken place.
Is Alpha Box Office Failure The Reason Behind It?
Interestingly, when there were discussions about making Dhoom 4 with Ranbir Kapoor, the another name attached with the project was of director Shiv Rawail. Shiv Rawail is the same person who directed Alia Bhatt’s recent released film Alpha which didn’t work at the box office. So, many are assuming that maybe it’s Alpha’s box office and criticism towards the film has led Aditya Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor to think again about the film.
Now Ranbir has just confirmed only two films Ramayana and Love & War, Ramayana which is being made in two parts is slated to release on Diwali 2026, and then its second part will release on Diwali 2027. While, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal is slated to release on 24 January 2027.
