Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) joint general secretary Atul Limaye has labelled student protesters as “anti-constitutional” and “anti-national”. His statement has added fuel to the controversy.
Reacting to RSS leader’s statement, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called the saffron group as hypocritical.
RSS leader Atul Limaye called student protesters anti-national at an ABVP meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, claiming Leftist groups hijacked genuine concerns. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke responded, calling the RSS hypocritical and labeling Nathuram Godse the first anti-national.
Speaking at an ABVP workers’ meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Atul Limaye said that their agitation began as a genuine student protest but was hijacked by anti-establishment forces.
“The original protests were about reforming the education system,” said Limaye. “But they fell into the hands of the wrong people,” he added, asking ABVP workers to safeguard the interests of the nation and use their energies to take the country forward.
“Treat CJP Protest as a Case Study”
RSS chief appealed to all rightwing organisations to closely follow the developments relating to the CJP led protest and agitation and learn lessons from it.
“The student protesters should be treated as a case study by the rightwing organisations,” he said.
“The timeline of this agitation, its’ organisational structure, methodology and back-end support should be studied in detail by the workers of ABVP.”
Atul Limaye added that when Dipke returned to India, he did not get much of a following, despite his fiery speeches, but since June 20, there has been a dramatic rise in such protests across the country.
“When did all these protests erupt? What miraculous developments must have taken place in between for all these pro-independence organisations to erupt simultaneously across the country? It is suspected that the Left-Supporting organisations have fuelled this kind of unrest among students,” he added.
“Asking how did this happen, is like asking how did the protests by the students of Delhi turn out to be a national-level agitation? How did all these protests erupt simultaneously in different states of India? How did it get foreign support? Why did this kind of disturbance happen? Are these organisations not following the national interests?”
Limaye alleged that several organisations supporting the CJP led protest were “Leftists” and said that some protesters even raised anti-Hindu and anti-national slogans.
Abhijeet Dipke Reacts to RSS’s Remarks
Founder of CJP, Abhijeet Dipke, responded strongly to the comments made by RSS chief.
“The people who killed Mahatma Gandhi have the audacity to term us anti-national. The killers of Mahatma Gandhi have no right to even utter the word ‘anti-national’. Nathuram Godse was the first anti-national,” Dipke said.
The controversy surrounding the CJP led protest against the alleged NEET paper leak has been growing by the day. This agitation, which began as a student protest against the NEET exam, eventually turned into a full-scale protest against the government’s policies on education and examinations.
