It is probable that most of the schools from various districts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand will remain closed on Thursday, October 29 because of the rainfall caused by Cyclone Arnab.

Cyclone Arnab prompted school closures in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Jharkhand on October 29, while Delhi reported Karwa Chauth holidays for government schools and Uttar Pradesh granted leave to female teachers.
However, the day will also be the occasion of celebrating Karwa Chauth festival, and it depends on whether there will be holiday or not in the respective states and schools.
Cyclone has touched down the coast of Andhra Pradesh between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam, causing very severe winds and the threat of heavy rains in some parts.
There have been directions issued to close down schools in the affected regions.
For Delhi, as per the information available, the government schools have declared the holiday for the celebration of Karwa Chauth, while for private schools it depends on their calendar. For Uttar Pradesh, the latest news indicates that the female teachers in the basic education schools have been granted holiday, but the students do not have any holiday declared so far.
