YouTuber Dhruv Rathee is all set to join the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bengaluru on October 8, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and actor-activist Prakash Raj announced on Wednesday.

YouTuber Dhruv Rathee is joining the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest against Bengaluru’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls on October 8, confirmed CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and Prakash Raj. Rathee has also encouraged young people to participate in the CJP’s October 10 demonstration in Delhi.
The CJP had earlier teased a “surprise guest” for its Bengaluru protest. Dipke later revealed that Rathee had already reached Bengaluru ahead of Thursday’s demonstration at Freedom Park.
Abhijeet Dipke Reveals Dhruv Rathee As ‘Surprise Guest’
In a video message shared on Wednesday, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced the group’s special guest for the October 8 protest. Dipke said he had already arrived in Bengaluru and then turned the camera towards Dhruv Rathee, revealing the YouTuber’s presence in the city.

Rathee, appearing in the video, appealed to young people to participate in the Bengaluru protest.
The YouTuber also urged the younger generation to join the CJP’s planned gathering at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10.
The announcement came shortly after actor and activist Prakash Raj also confirmed Rathee’s participation in the Bengaluru protest.
Prakash Raj Urges People To Join Protest
In a separate video posted on X, Prakash Raj described Rathee as the “special guest” for the event and urged people to gather at Freedom Park.
“A voice with a spine. Who will be joining us at Freedom Park, Bengaluru. That’s none other than Dhruv Rathee,” Raj said while announcing his participation.
He said several individuals and groups would join the protest, including Aishe Ghosh and Neha Bora. Raj also mentioned young organisations, civil society groups and people from different Karnataka districts who, according to the organisers, have concerns over SIR.
Raj called for people to come together to raise their concerns over the electoral roll revision exercise.
CJP Plans ‘Chappal Protest’ And People’s Tribunal
The Cockroach Janta Party, founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has scheduled a protest at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on October 8.
The programme is set to begin at 10:30 am and will include a “Chappal Protest” and a People’s Tribunal focused on SIR.
CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation would participate in the People’s Tribunal and interact with people from Karnataka who, according to the group, have been “wrongfully removed” from the electoral rolls.
The organisation has been using the protest to raise questions over the Special Intensive Revision process and alleged deletion of names from voter lists.
Protest Also Linked To Delhi Demonstrations
The Bengaluru protest is part of the CJP’s wider campaign against SIR.
The organisation has also linked its October 8 programme to allegations raised by women journalists during protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi.
The CJP has said its “Chappal Protest” is being held in solidarity with women journalists who alleged sexual harassment during the Delhi demonstrations.
The allegations remain subject to investigation and should not be treated as established findings.
Rathee Invites Youth To Bengaluru And Delhi Protests
Rathee’s participation has added attention to the CJP’s Bengaluru programme, particularly among young social media users.
In the video released by Dipke, Rathee directly appealed to young people to participate in the Bengaluru protest on October 8. He also invited the younger generation to join the gathering planned at Jantar Mantar on October 10.
The organisers are expecting activists, civil society representatives and people who say they have concerns about the voter-list revision to attend the Bengaluru event.
