Iran has warned United States and Israeli forces that any fresh strike will draw a different response, saying future retaliation would use “new tools and methods”. The warning comes amid tense West Asia diplomacy, with several governments trying to reduce friction while military planners still prepare for possible escalation.

Speaking at a gathering in Tehran’s Valiasr Square, Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said foreign pressure will not force Iran into retreat or isolation. According to state outlet Press TV, Brigadier General Akraminia argued that Iran continues to resist sanctions, regional restrictions and security threats directed by outside powers.

Iran warns the US and Israel that future strikes will elicit retaliation with new tools and methods, asserting control over the Strait of Hormuz, while President Trump discussed aborted strikes and a short diplomatic window.

Iran warning to US and Israel over new military tools

Outlining the consequences of any further attack, Brigadier General Akraminia said, “If the enemy commits another folly and falls into the Zionists’ trap again and launches another aggression against our dear Iran, we will open new fronts against them with new tools and methods.” Brigadier General Akraminia added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran cannot be blockaded or defeated.”

Brigadier General Akraminia said Iranian forces have treated the current ceasefire as preparation time rather than a pause. According to Brigadier General Akraminia, defence units used this phase to review plans, upgrade readiness and test responses. “The ceasefire has been treated as a time of war, during which we enhanced our combat power,” Brigadier General Akraminia said.

The spokesperson also claimed Iran keeps full oversight over the Strait of Hormuz, which handles a large share of global oil shipments. Brigadier General Akraminia said the waterway will not simply return to earlier operating patterns and argued that regional rivals must recognise Iran’s security role in the strategic strait.

Brigadier General Akraminia said Tehran expects rivals to accept what Iran describes as its national rights within the region. Stressing that respect was the preferred path, Brigadier General Akraminia said, “The only way for the enemy is to respect the Iranian nation and observe the legitimate rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Iran warning to US and Israel after Trump strike remarks

Amid Iran’s message, Trump described how close the United States came to renewed strikes on Iranian targets, saying the operation was fully prepared and could have begun within an hour. Trump told reporters that US naval assets were loaded and the military was, in Trump’s words, “all set to start”.

Trump said, “I was an hour away. We were all set to go… it would have been happening right now,” while discussing the aborted strikes. Asked how long Iran had to reach a possible agreement, Trump replied, “Two or three days. Maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Maybe early next week. A limited period of time. Because we can let them have a nuclear weapon.”

The timeline Trump mentioned for potential diplomacy with Iran can be set out as follows:

Statement by Trump Indicated timeframe
“Two or three days” Short window for talks
“Maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday” Specific days flagged
“Maybe early next week” Extension into following week

Iran’s warning of “new tools and methods” and claims over the Strait of Hormuz, together with Trump’s description of near-launched strikes and a brief diplomatic window, underline how military readiness and negotiation efforts are running in parallel as governments watch the West Asia situation closely.
