US president Donald Trump while addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly again claimed that he helped stop a full-scale war between India and Pakistan during their confrontation in May 2025. Trump also claimed that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also credited him for saving millions of lives.
Former US President Donald Trump asserted he stopped a potential India-Pakistan war in May 2025, claiming Pakistan’s PM credited him with saving millions, and also cited interventions in Israel-Iran and Armenia-Azerbaijan conflicts.
“The Prime Minister of Pakistan, a terrific man, said that Donald Trump was responsible for saving 30 million lives, and probably many more than that,” Trump said.
He also claimed that leaders of both the countries have given written letters to him thanking to stop the war. This is not the first time Trump has said that he stopped India-Pakistan, earlier also for multiple times he has claimed it although India has always denied it.
The Eight Conflicts ‘The Boaster’ Trump Claims He Stopped
Trump not just claim stopping India-Pakistan war, he has claimed almost 8 wars since returning to White House. Here are the wars that Trump think he had stopped.
1. India-Pakistan
The May 2025 fighting followed the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s launch of Operation Sindoor. Trump says his intervention helped bring the two nuclear-armed neighbours to a ceasefire, while India has maintained that the understanding came through direct military communication.
2. Israel-Iran
Trump says his administration helped end the 12-Day War between Israel and Iran in June 2025. The White House describes the ceasefire as an agreement brokered by Trump.
3. Armenia-Azerbaijan
Trump says his administration helped bring Armenia and Azerbaijan towards a peace agreement after decades of conflict. The two countries signed a joint declaration in August 2025 aimed at establishing peaceful relations.
4. Cambodia-Thailand
Trump has claimed credit for helping stop fighting along the Cambodia-Thailand border. His administration says it helped bring the two sides to a ceasefire after deadly clashes, although fighting later resumed.
5. Democratic Republic of Congo-Rwanda
Trump says he helped broker an agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda after years of conflict involving armed groups in eastern Congo. The White House later described the agreement as a major peace achievement.
6. Kosovo-Serbia
Trump counts the Kosovo-Serbia dispute among the conflicts his administration helped resolve. The White House describes its role as brokering normalisation between the two sides rather than ending a conventional war.
7. Egypt-Ethiopia
Trump has also included tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia over Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Unlike several other conflicts on his list, the dispute has primarily been diplomatic rather than an active war.
8. Israel-Hamas War In Gaza
Trump has claimed credit for helping end the Israel-Hamas war through a ceasefire framework and his Gaza peace plan. The White House says the plan also secured the release of hostages and created a framework for post-war arrangements.
