Eight Tamil Nadu students have died after their car crashed into a stationary lorry in Kerala’s Thrissur district in the late night Friday. The accident took place around 11.40 PM at Panambikkunnu in Kaipamangalam, the crash was so brutal that all eight students died on the spot. Police even said that the car had a Tamil Nadu registration and was heading for Kodungallur from the Guruvayur side.
Eight students suspected to be from Tamil Nadu died instantly when their car collided with a stationary lorry late Friday night in Kaipamangalam, Thrissur district, Kerala. Police are investigating the cause of the accident and confirming the victims’ identities.
Eight Die in Kaipamangalam Crash
The accident happened when their car struck to a parked lorry on the highway. The collision was so hard that impacted vehicle badly and make all eight students trapped inside.
Later, local residents, along with police and fire rescue personnel, reached to the accident spot and started rescue operation. The victims were removed from wreckage and their bodies were sent to mortuary at Thrissur Medical College.
Victims Believed to Be From Tamil Nadu
The police have confirmed that dead students are suspected from Tamil Nadu, and some local media channels have quoted them as engineering students. However, the officials are still in the process to confirm their identities and other details of the victims.
Till the time of reporting the major reason of the car hitting to a parked Lorry is not established yet.
Police Probe Into Fatal Collision
The brutal accident has forced police to investigate the matter how this collision happened in the circumstance that it hit the parked lorry on the highway. Some reports even suggest that the accident occurred at stretch where the construction of road going on.
Now Police will complete the identification and other formal procedures before the dead bodies to be handed over to the families.
