Veteran Tamil actor Sarath Kumar has hailed Rocking Star Yash’s pan-India film Toxic, which was released on August 26 and received a mixed response from audiences and critics.
In a post on X, he thanked Yash for arranging a special screening of the film and praised director Geetu Mohandas for the concept and execution of Toxic.

He said, “I watched the film Toxic yesterday, thanks to my dear friend Yash for screening it. I was wondering how the director Geethu Mohandass had conceptualized beyond cinematic imagination and executed the scenes well.
“Yash needs a special mention for his performance in handling difficult scenes with ease, especially in the climax. I feel one should watch this movie for many reasons, as it has technical excellence, individual performances and picturization.
“A little ahead of its time. I appreciate the team’s efforts. Please watch and make your own opinion.”
His praise could help generate interest among Tamil audiences, particularly as the film has struggled to make a strong impact at the Tamil Nadu box office.
Meanwhile, the business of the multilingual film has slowed down at the Indian box office. The movie earned Rs 5.45 crore on its eighth day, Wednesday, with nearly 9,000 shows across the country.
The big-budget film has grossed Rs 283.87 crore, with a net collection of Rs 237.74 crore in India. The Hindi version has earned Rs 144.57 crore, while the Kannada version has contributed Rs 55.83 crore.
The Telugu version has earned Rs 25.18 crore, followed by the Tamil version with Rs 9.86 crore and the Malayalam version with Rs 2.30 crore.
