A construction site in Kudasan near Gandhinagar, Gujarat, turned into an emergency zone on Wednesday after a section of an under-construction building suddenly collapsed.
Several workers are feared to be buried under the debris. Officials said around 10 to 15 workers may still be trapped, while rescue teams have already managed to bring several people out alive.
In Kudasan, Gujarat, a partial collapse of an under-construction building occurred on Wednesday, trapping an estimated 10-15 workers. Rescue teams have saved 8 workers alive, and the search operation, monitored by Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, is ongoing.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel are continuing their search through the collapsed portion of the structure.
Rescue Teams Rush to Kudasan Site
Soon after the collapse, Gandhinagar Fire Department teams reached the location and began removing debris to look for trapped workers. Officials said eight workers have been rescued alive so far, while the search continues for those who may still be underneath the rubble.

Rescuers are using heavy equipment carefully as they clear concrete and other construction material from the site. The operation is being carried out with the aim of reaching workers as quickly as possible without putting rescue personnel at further risk.
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi Reaches the Spot
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has also reached the collapse site and is monitoring the rescue operation.
Fire department officials, police personnel and other emergency teams are working at the location as the search continues.

Gandhinagar Fire Officer Rajesh Patel said teams were actively involved in the rescue operation and that more information would be available as the situation develops.
What Caused the Building to Collapse?
The exact reason behind the collapse is not known yet.
Since the building was still under construction, questions may arise over structural stability, construction practices and safety arrangements at the site. However, it would be too early to blame any particular factor before an official assessment is completed.
Authorities are expected to examine the site once the immediate rescue operation is over to determine what caused the structure to give way.

While rescue teams continue working through the debris, families and colleagues of the workers are waiting for updates. The priority at the moment is to locate everyone who could still be trapped and bring them out safely.
