The United States has started military strikes on Iran again after a month-long pause in fighting, raising fresh concern across the Middle East. IS Central Command said that the latest attacks followed after attacks by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and American personnel station in the region.

The United States resumed military strikes against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) near the Strait of Hormuz, targeting threats to shipping and personnel, while President Trump warned of future actions.
US Says Strikes Targeted IRGC Threats
The military action resumed as US strike against rocket launchers on Larak Island, location in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz on Sunday. Iran retaliated after firing missile towards US positions in Jordan, that later intercepted. UAE also said it had intercepted an Iranian drone over its waters.
Central command said the Sunday operation focus narrowly on IRGC forces suspected of preparing to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
“U.S. forces took limited, precise action against IRGC minelaying forces posing an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz,” Central Command stated.
Trump Warns More Strikes Could Follow
President Donald Trump admitted on Monday that further military action will be required. He claimed that US and Israeli attacks had left Iran “a failed nation,” pointing towards damager to its leadership, economy and military.
“That doesn’t mean we won’t smack them,” Trump told reporters. “We’ll see what happens.”
Iran’s state television also reported the explosions in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas but added no further details.
