Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi underlined growing hype around Rajasthan Royals talent by smashing a 25-ball century on Kevin Pietersen’s YouTube show, The Switch. The 15-year-old met a 100-from-50-balls challenge with ease, doing it in half the deliveries and setting a new benchmark for the programme.

Sooryavanshi’s innings featured a stream of sixes to all parts of the ground, thrilling Pietersen and viewers. The episode went online soon after Rajasthan Royals became the fourth franchise to secure an IPL 2026 playoffs place, adding further spotlight on the academy batter’s rapid progress.

Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, associated with Rajasthan Royals, smashed a 25-ball century on Kevin Pietersen’s show, ranking second fastest behind Shreyas Iyer’s 22 balls, and expressed ambition to score 200 in T20s.

Despite the blitz, Sooryavanshi did not surpass Shreyas Iyer’s mark for the quickest ton on Pietersen’s channel. Shreyas, now captain of Punjab Kings, had earlier taken only 22 balls to reach three figures in the same format of challenge, leaving Sooryavanshi three deliveries short.

The updated leaderboard from Kevin Pietersen’s show now places Sooryavanshi second. West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran follows with a 28-ball hundred, while AB de Villiers reached the milestone in 30 balls. Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal needed 47 balls, highlighting how far ahead the top three efforts sit.

During the shoot, Pietersen asked whether Sooryavanshi believed Shreyas Iyer’s record was within reach. The youngster had confidently claimed that Shreyas could be overtaken, yet the final numbers left the original 22-ball effort intact, despite Sooryavanshi’s explosive hitting and clean ball striking.

The conversation soon moved from records on the show to global T20 marks. Sooryavanshi spoke about long-term ambitions in the format and laid out a bold future aim. “I want to score 200 in T20,” Sooryavanshi told Pietersen on the latest episode of The Switch.

Pietersen then reminded Sooryavanshi about the current record for the highest individual T20 score. “Chris Gayle’s got 175,” Pietersen said, referring to Gayle’s 175-run innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2013, which remains the top mark in recognised T20 cricket.

Sooryavanshi responded that the Gayle record was a clear target, not a distant figure. “Yeah, I want to break his record and score 200. If I bat for the full 20 overs in any game, I will definitely break that record.” The statement capped an episode that mixed entertainment with a glimpse of strong ambition from the Rajasthan Royals prospect.
