A highly-anticipated Tamil cinema reunion took place in Silverstone on Saturday, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay meeting actor and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar ahead of his Michelin Le Mans Cup race. A video of the two meeting up at the British racing circuit has gone viral.
In the clip, Vijay can be seen heading towards Ajith before warmly embracing him. Ajith greeted Vijay upon arrival at the venue as they greeted each other ahead of the race. Their meeting has particularly excited fans given the longstanding popularity they have for each other and their infrequent public meetings.

However Vijay and Ajith were not the only Tamil cinema stars to draw attention at Silverstone.
Trisha Krishnan’s appearance at the circuit has added an extra layer of buzz to social media. The actor was spotted stepping out of a car in jeans, a T-shirt and a maroon jacket as he entered the racing area. Her appearance followed a period of extensive speculation among fans of whether she would appear to support Ajith.
Previously, Trisha was spotted in London with veteran actor Radhika Sarathkumar. Radhika posted a selfie with Trisha, which has subsequently sparked up across social media. Radhika is also in the UK for Ajith’s racing event and met the actor before the Silverstone round.

Trisha’s appearance has inevitably attracted attention due to her long-standing association with Vijay. The two actors first appeared together in Ghilli in 2004 and appeared together on-screen in Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi and Leo. Their chemistry has made them one of Tamil cinema’s most recognised on-screen pairs.

Their friendship has also regularly fuelled speculation about their relationship. However neither Vijay nor Trisha have publicly confirmed the suspicions about their relationship. Trisha’s appearances at Vijay’s public events in 2026 have continued to attract attention, including his swearing-in ceremony as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in May, where she was spotted greeting his mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar.
Meanwhile, Trisha remains one of the busiest names in South Indian cinema. After appearing in Vidaamuyarchi, Good Bad Ugly, Thug Life and Karuppu, she has several projects planned, including Vishwambhara, Ram and Dvitva. She is also working on a new Tamil psychological horror film.
At Silverstone, however it was the meeting of Vijay with Ajith and the much-discussed appearance of Trisha which has given fans plenty to discuss.
