Two people have died after a horrific accident involving five vehicles occurred on the Chintamani flyover on Tuesday. Three others have been seriously injured, according to PTI.
The incident occurred in a matter of moments when a vehicle travelling from Chennai toward Villupuram collided with a two-wheeler on the overpass. The biker died on sport after suffering severe injuries.
Two people died and three others were seriously injured following a five-vehicle collision on the Chintamani flyover on Tuesday, according to a PTI report.
The initial collision triggered a series of crashes involving multiple vehicles. An Omni van travelling behind the two-wheeler came to an abrupt stop to avoid the accident. Moments later, a Swift car traveling from Chennai toward Trichy crashed violently into the rear of the van, leaving the car lodged beneath it. One of the three occupants in the Swift died in the collision, News Tamil reported.
The pile-up worsened when a Force vehicle travelling behind the Swift failed to stop in time and rammed into the car, resulting in a major five-vehicle collision. It occurred around 3 am.

The injured were taken to the Mundiyambakkam Government Hospital. The bodies of the two deceased (a two-wheeler rider and a Swift car occupant) have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Three people, including two occupants of the Swift car and one person from the two-wheeler, sustained critical injuries and are undergoing emergency treatment at the hospital.
The Villupuram Police have registered a case and launched a investigation to determine the precise sequence of events and establish responsibility for the crash.
