Voting for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections will begin at 7:00 am on Wednesday, with political focus on whether the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can gain ground in regions long dominated by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee.

Voting for the final West Bengal Assembly election phase begins Wednesday across 142 constituencies, including TMC strongholds like Bhabanipur, where CM Mamata Banerjee faces BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari.
This phase covers 142 constituencies across key districts such as Kolkata, Howrah, North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Hooghly, and Purba Bardhaman-areas traditionally considered TMC strongholds.
A major spotlight is on Bhabanipur, the seat held by Mamata Banerjee, which has emerged as a crucial battleground. She faces a strong challenge from Suvendu Adhikari, a former TMC leader who joined the BJP and is seen as a key contender for the chief minister’s post if the party comes to power.
