The Election Commission said on Friday that it had not advised any repoll in West Bengal. Voting took place on April 23 in 44,376 polling stations. The decision suggested that the first phase passed without serious trouble. The Commission said it found no issues that needed fresh voting at any booth.

The official said standard review steps were followed before closing the matter. Inputs from observers and field reports were examined as part of this scrutiny.
