Lindsay Clancy’s finances have drawn fresh attention as her murder trial over the deaths of her three children continues in Massachusetts. Clancy, a former labor-and-delivery nurse, is accused of killing Cora, Dawson and Callan at the family’s Duxbury home in January 2023.

Her defense says she was suffering from severe mental illness and postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors argue the killings were intentional.

What was Lindsay Clancy’s job and salary?

Lindsay Clancy worked as a labor-and-delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital before the killings. She had also reduced her working hours after the birth of her third child as she dealt with mental-health problems.

Clancy’s exact salary has not been publicly disclosed. However, as per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, registered nurses in Massachusetts had a mean annual wage of $108,850, or about $52.33 an hour, in May 2023. This figure offers a general idea of what registered nurses in the state earned around the time of the case, but it does not show Clancy’s personal income. Her actual pay could have differed based on her experience, hours worked, overtime and other factors and Ht.com couldn’t independently verify that.

What is know about her family family home and finances?

As per Patriot Ledger, Clancy and her former husband, Patrick Clancy, owned a home in Duxbury before the January 2023 killings. The couple bought the property in 2018 for about $500,000. Patrick later sold the home in January 2024 for $675,000.

However, the sale price alone does not show how much money Lindsay Clancy received. Public information does not provide a verified breakdown of the mortgage, ownership shares or the couple’s other financial arrangements.

Patrick Clancy’s GoFundMe has also been discussed in connection with the case. The fundraiser collected more than $1 million, but as per her attorney Kevin Reddington, that money was not used for Lindsay Clancy’s defense.

Who is paying for her legal defense?

As per the Boston Globe, in 2023 Reddington said Clancy’s parents were paying for her defense and were “pretty much depleting everything they have to try and help her out.” He also said, “every nickel that’s been spent on her defense has come from her parents.”

Clancy’s legal expenses have included costs for mental-health experts hired by her defense team. In 2023, Plymouth District Court Judge John A Canavan III approved up to $17,500 in public funds to cover fees for psychiatrist Dr Phillip Resnick and psychologist Dr Paul Zeizel. Reddington said at the time that he had not yet used the public money.

There is no verified figure for Clancy’s total legal expenses. The available information also does not provide a complete picture of her personal assets or savings.
