Some of the prominent figures who have received notice letters from Delhi during its ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls include External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar, former Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Director of CBI Praveen Sood, BJP veteran L K Advani, and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, amongst others.
Delhi’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has issued notices for voter record verification to figures like S Jaishankar and L K Advani, flagging over 33 lakh electors since August 31 for ‘no mapping’ or logical discrepancies in electoral details.
Notice letters are sent by the Election Commission in order to conduct its verification process regarding some problems with voter records. The receipt of a notice letter does not necessarily imply that someone’s name has been struck off from the electoral rolls.
S Jaishankar And General Upendra Dwivedi Get SIR Notices
S Jaishankar & Wife Kyoko S Jaishankar have been included in the list of voters who have not been mapped with their previous SIR roll. Both the couple has been enlisted as voters from Sunder Bagh in the New Delhi constituency of the Assembly.
General Upendra Dwivedi (retired), the former Army Chief and his wife Sunita Dwivedi have also got a notice in the same list.
Director CBI, Praveen Sood, Vanita Sood (wife of Praveen Sood), & Kamlesh Sood (mother of Praveen Sood) have been enlisted as “unmapped with last SIR”.

LK Advani, Manish Sisodia Also On The List
BJP veteran LK Advani has received a notice along with his daughter Pratibha Advani and daughter-in-law Geetika. Their records have been marked under the “no mapping” category.
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is also among those served a notice. His wife Seema and son Meer have also appeared on the list, with different discrepancies mentioned against their records.
Former AAP minister and current BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot has also been flagged. His wife Moushumi Mishra Gahlot and daughter Jahnavi Gahlot have received notices under the same category.
Other prominent names include Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Kapil Sibal, Subramanian Swamy, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
What Does ‘No Mapping’ Mean?
The term “no mapping” has featured prominently in the notices issued during the Delhi SIR. Simply put, the category applies to voters whose current electoral details could not be matched or linked with their details in the previous revision of the electoral roll. Some voters have also been classified under “logical discrepancies”, which can refer to inconsistencies in information such as names, parental details or other entries in electoral records.
More Than 33 Lakh Voters Flagged
The notices issued to well-known personalities are part of a much larger verification exercise in Delhi.
According to the figures cited by election officials, 33,12,919 electors have been placed in the two broad categories of “no mapping” and “logical discrepancies”.
This includes 13,79,785 voters under no mapping and 19,33,134 voters under logical discrepancies.
The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office published the list of voters who received notices nearly three weeks after the draft electoral roll was released on August 31.
