In the latest development on the CJP (Cockroach Janata Party) protest, the party in his official statement has announced removal of its spokesperson- Vijeta Dahiya.
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) removed its spokesperson Vijeta Dahiya following a viral video showing him eating a burger during protests against NEET UG 2026 irregularities, deeming his conduct insensitive. This decision came after the CJP also appointed Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka as official spokespersons.
This decision comes a day after the mass ‘Sandsad Chalo’ March on Monday where several people questioned his absence. In addition to this a viral video capturing him inside the burger king amid the violence as several protesters were beaten, tear gas fired, etc and on the other hand Vijeta seemed more interested in eating burgers.

Who Is Vijeta Dhaiya?
As the Cockroach Janata Party gets new faces – Vijeta is one of them. Dhaiya is a political researcher, author and filmmaker who recently was named as CJP’s spokesperson. This Jantar Mantar protest brought him to the spotlight.
Dhaiya is also a content creator. Before joining the Cockroach Janata Party as its official spokesperson, he was associated with political research and content development for digital platforms.
Based on the CJP’s announcement, Dhaiya has previously worked as a political researcher and contributed to creation for several YouTube channels. Some of his past writing has supported political commentator Dhruv Rathee.
Informing that Dhaiya is an alumnus of Delhi Technological University (DTU) – where he completed his higher education.

Both of his books have been described as bestselling titles in media reports.
Apart from book writing his participation in work extends to regional cinema. He has written and directed the Haryanvi films Darare and Opri Parai, showcasing his interest in storytelling beyond politics.
He has been an active social media user who keeps sharing his opinions on politics. He has described himself as someone inspired by historical figures including Bhagat Singh, Swami Vivekananda, Rosa Luxemburg and Gautama Buddha.

Dahiya’s appointment comes at a time when the Cockroach Janata Party is attempting to expand beyond a social media-driven campaign into a more organised political movement.
The party recently announced three official spokespersons to interact with the media:
- Saurav Das – Chief Spokesperson
- Vijeta Dahiya – Official Spokesperson
- Ashutosh Ranka – Official Spokesperson
The move is seen as an effort to streamline the party’s communication and present a unified voice as it continues to campaign on issues such as alleged examination irregularities, youth unemployment and governance.
Why Has Vijeta Dahiya Faced Criticism?
Amid the NEET UG 2026 paper leak protest, Vijeta Dhaiya has gained spotlight after he was captured inside Burger King near the protest site. Netizens called him a traitor and blamed him for leaving the protesters alone and enjoying burger.
Dhaiya did not stop there and responded to the backlash saying, “I was hungry and wanted to eat a burger.” He added, “I have not slept for 2 days and was hungry, I am doing this for the country and myself and I am not accountable to anyone. You have not hired me for this post and I am not being paid for this, so I will eat.”

The videos triggered widespread backlash, with many questioning his commitment to the movement at a time when protesters were facing police action. Dahiya also drew criticism over his reported response to those confronting him, with some accusing him of displaying an insensitive attitude.
In response to the controversy, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) removed him as its spokesperson, saying his conduct was “deeply insensitive” and inconsistent with the values of the movement. However, the exact timing and circumstances of the viral videos have not been independently verified.
