Did Prime Minister Narendra Modi warn the youths against joining the protests organised by the Cockroach Janta Party at Jantar Mantar? A viral video doing rounds on social media indicated that he has asked them to “stay away” from the movement.
“I am telling you in clear words to stay away from Cockroach Janta Party…If anybody dares to join the movement, the government will not hesitate to take tough action. It will be better for students to focus on education,” the rough translation of the words heard in the clip quoted PM Modi as saying.
PIB Fact Check confirmed a viral video showing PM Modi warning youths against protests was an AI-generated deepfake; his original remarks assured NEET UG students action against paper leaks and promised legislative measures and fast-track courts.
The PIB Fact Check said the video is an AI-generated deepfake and shared both the original and the manipulated versions for comparison.
The message read: “This is an ‘#AI-generated deepfake video’ shared to mislead the public”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not made any such statement.
In the original video posted on July 23, PM Modi assured the protesting youths of taking action against paper leaks and stated that the Parliament will get the Bill passed next week.
He said, “I know that paper leak is not an ordinary issue. It is very painful for lakhs of students and their guardians.”

“Numerous effective measures have been taken in the past two and a half months since the paper leak incident. The culprits have been caught and are in jail. Our most important responsibility was to ensure that students’ year is not wasted. The government used all its might to ensure that 22 lakh students could take their exams in the shortest possible time,” he commented.
He spoke on fast track courts and said, “On the 19th July, the results were declared. I directed the departments today to establish a fast-track court. The departments presented me with the resolution late at night. This resolution, along with the provision for a fast-track court and harsh punishment, will be discussed in the cabinet tomorrow. After the suggestions of cabinet colleagues, it will be finalised, and since the second week of Parliament is starting from Monday, efforts will be made to get that bill passed in the House as soon as possible.”
The video comes amid massive nationwide protests against alleged irregularities in the NEET UG examination, seeking the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
