An model and web-series actress Antara Banerjee who is 31 years-old has been arrested after alleged violent confrontation with railway official when she was travelling in Bandra-Ganganagar Aravali Express on August 12.

Actress Antara Banerjee, 31, was arrested on August 13 following an alleged violent incident on the August 12 Aravali Express where she reportedly attacked railway official Yamini Kant Mishra with a razor blade after a dispute over a reserved seat, facing charges including assault on a public servant.
The police has said that the dispute started after a reserved seat and later turned into with Antara Banerjee allegedly undressing and attacking railway personnel with razor blade.
What Happened On The Aravali Express?
According to the FIR filed, the incident took place around 9.30 PM to 10.50 PM when Banerjee was travelling from Surat for a web-series shooting. She was allegedly sitting on reserved seat in an AC coach although she had a sleeper-class ticket.
A passenger asked her to vacate the seat but when she didn’t so the person complaint it to checker Harikesh Tripathi and RPF. Assistant sub-inspector Yamini Kant Mishra and constable Rajesh Kumar then came into the matter.
Police said that Banerjee became aggressive and started abusing the railways officials and later undressed and brandished a razor that injured Yamini Kant Mishra. Allegedly she also injured herself and damaged Mishra’s uniform and her mobile device, spectacles.
How Was Antara Banerjee Taken Into Custody?
RPF personnel then closed the AC coach doors with security and the confrontation continued. According to police, she even tried to ran away by breaking the rail window glass. However, she was then deboarded and handed over to Railway police when reached to next station Dhanau.
Later Borivali railway police took her into custody after this mording. GRP inspector Kunda Gavade said the witnesses have said that she was distressed after not being able to get AC coach ticket.
“She calmed down after the FIR was registered,” Gavade said.
What Charges Does She Face?
Now the FIR has been registered against her on 13 August, Police has booked her including endangering safety, causing grievous harm to public servants, assault and intentional insult.
Although she was released on bail after being served with a legal notice. According to the police the incident happened for almost an hour and it terrified the passengers.
