Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and five others have been booked in Maharashtra’s Latur after a teacher accused them of entering a government school without permission.
The case was registered at Ausa police station after Dipke and his associate Ajinkya Shinde allegedly visited the government-run Zilla Parishad Urdu school in Jawali, near Ausa, as part of the CJP’s ongoing ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and five others were booked in Latur, Maharashtra, following a teacher’s accusation of trespassing and disrupting a Jawali government school during the ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign, facing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The complaint was filed by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, 53, a teacher at the school. She alleged that the group disrupted school work and threatened teachers during the visit.
Dipke and the others have been booked under Sections 132, 329(3), 351(2) and 356(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The sections deal with assault or use of criminal force against a public servant, house trespass, criminal intimidation and criminal defamation.
As per the FIR, Dipke and his associates entered the school without taking permission from the authorities. They sat with students and questioned the staff about the condition of the school.
The teacher alleged that their presence disrupted the regular functioning of the school and interfered with government work.
Dipke also recorded videos during the visit and spoke to students. The complaint states that the videos were later shared on social media.
The teacher further alleged that Dipke tried to portray the school in a bad light by claiming that students from another school had been brought in and made to sit in the classrooms when he visited.
He also allegedly threatened to get the teachers suspended, according to the complaint.
CJP’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign
The FIR comes as CJP members continue their ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, which focuses on government schools and their infrastructure and facilities.
The campaign was launched on August 15, Independence Day, from Dipke’s native village in Hingoli. Since then, CJP members have visited government schools in different states, though some of their visits have met with opposition.
On Friday, a CJP team was allegedly attacked while visiting a government school in Rampura Kanwarpura in Jaipur.
In Mumbai, the civic education department has barred CJP volunteers from entering municipal schools without permission.
