The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR in the connection with the death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Now CBI has mentioned Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty for their roles in the gang-rape and murder of Disha Salian.
The CBI registered an FIR regarding Disha Salian’s June 2020 death in Mumbai, naming Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Rhea Chakraborty, and others in relation to alleged murder, gang-rape, and conspiracy, following a Bombay High Court order.
The FIR was registered after two week of Bombay High Court directed CBI to take over case in their hands. The case has included charges of murder, gang-rape, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and providing false information.
Uddhav Thackeray Also Mentioned in FIR
The FIR also alleges that former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and other played an important role in conspiracy and its subsequent cover-up of the case.
It also mentions the roles of Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Rhea Chakraborty and doctors and staff for forcing the delayed post-mortem require investigation. However, these are just part of CBI investigation and it doesn’t establish guilt against the people.
What Happened to Disha Salian?
Disha Salian was found dead on 8 June, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. Her death came just days before Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home.
Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in Salian’s case. After its inquiry, police said she had died by suicide.
However, her father, Satish Salian, later approached the Bombay High Court, alleging that his daughter had been gang-raped and murdered.
Bombay HC Criticised Police Investigation
On 2 September, the Bombay High Court ordered an CBI investigation after hearing a petition filed by Satish Salian.
Then court questioned Mumbai Police investigation and said it “raises more questions than answers”. It also pointed to “glaring discrepancies” and noted that Salian’s family had still not received copies of the post-mortem report and ADR six years after her death.
Satish Salian also recorded his statement for CBI last week. Now CBI has asked for documents and records from Mumbai Police to start investigation.
