Bhopal: The seventh edition of the Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart (MPTM) 2026 will be held from October 7 to 10 at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre (Minto Hall) in Bhopal, bringing together global and domestic tourism stakeholders to showcase the state’s cultural heritage, wildlife, biodiversity and natural attractions.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the four-day event on October 7. The Travel Mart is expected to emerge as one of Madhya Pradesh’s biggest tourism-focused Business-to-Business (B2B) networking platforms.

Highlights include a ₹1,100 crore investment focus, 12 MoUs, film tourism initiatives and a multimedia heritage and conservation programme.
More than 100 international delegates and tourism stakeholders from over 34 countries will participate in MPTM 2026. Representatives from major European markets, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, UAE, Israel, Mauritius, Kenya and Russia are among those attending.
The event will also bring together domestic tourism stakeholders from more than 15 states and Union Territories, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Goa, Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir.
More Than 10,000 B2B Meetings Planned
One of the major highlights of the four-day Travel Mart will be more than 10,000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings. An online scheduling platform has been developed to facilitate direct interactions between international and domestic buyers, tour operators, hotel groups, airlines and travel agencies.
These stakeholders will connect with 355 local tourism stakeholders, including hoteliers, resort operators, heritage property owners, homestay operators and adventure sports providers. The meetings are aimed at taking Madhya Pradesh’s tourism products, folk culture, handicrafts and travel packages to international markets.
₹1,100 Crore-Plus Investment Proposals in Focus
MPTM 2026 is expected to give a major boost to private investment and tourism infrastructure in the state. Investment proposals and agreements worth more than ₹1,100 crore are being finalised during the event.
Letters of Award worth ₹252 crore will be issued for 14 major projects covering hotels, wellness resorts, luxury tented camps and eco-tourism units across Madhya Pradesh. LOAs will also be issued for modern way-side amenities along three major tourism highways.
₹848.40 Crore Mega Tourism Project in Sehore
The biggest investment attraction of the Travel Mart will be a ₹848.40-crore mega tourism investment agreement in Ramgarh, Sehore. Under the agreement between the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and A.R.M. Foods Private Limited, an international-standard golf course, golf villas, a wellness resort, luxury hotel and high-end hospitality infrastructure will be developed.
The project is expected to strengthen the tourism potential of the Vindhya and Malwa regions and generate around 920 direct and hundreds of indirect employment opportunities.
12 Strategic MoUs and Agreements
As part of efforts to build a future-ready tourism ecosystem, 12 strategic MoUs, MoAs and agreements will be signed during MPTM 2026. A partnership with the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior, will provide RPL training to 100 tourist vehicle drivers in Bhopal, covering safe driving, etiquette and customer service.
An agreement with Gram Stay will focus on connecting rural homestays with global booking platforms. Partnerships with Royal Enfield, the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) and NATRAX will promote motorcycle routes, adventure tourism safety standards and motorsports tourism.
AI, Film Tourism and Heritage Conservation
MPTM 2026 will also focus on film tourism, digital innovation and heritage conservation. A collaboration with Artemisia College of Art & Design, Indore, will support practical training and a digital asset library. Partnerships involving The Viral Fever (TVF) and Krarck Family Office will focus on film tourism, AVGC skill development and a proposed Museum of Storytelling.
Under the Smart Tourism initiative, 1,000 AI-enabled QR code boards will be installed at 100 major tourist destinations across the state.
For heritage conservation, an integrated management and landscape conservation plan will be prepared for the Historic Ensemble of Orchha as part of efforts towards its UNESCO nomination. A separate agreement will focus on upgrading tourism infrastructure and modernising the BSF Museum at the BSF Academy in Tekanpur, Gwalior.
Four-Day Programme: From Investor Meetings to Public Exhibition
On October 7, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will hold one-on-one meetings with national and international industrialists, investors and corporate representatives to discuss future investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.
On October 8, the B2B Mart and exhibition will be formally inaugurated. A high-level panel discussion on “Madhya Pradesh as the Wildlife Capital of India” will also be held, along with roundtables on adventure tourism and the MICE industry.
Business meetings will continue on October 9, followed by an awards ceremony recognising outstanding stalls and innovations.
On October 10, the exhibition will be open free of charge from 10:30 AM to 1 PM to school and college students, tourism institute students and the general public.
Multilingual Tourism Website and Digital Travel Handbook
To make tourism information more accessible to international visitors, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board’s official website will launch a multilingual version covering Hindi, English, German, Spanish, French and Japanese.
An advanced MP Travel Handbook will also be launched, featuring 360-degree panoramic views, interactive maps, AI-powered storytelling, virtual reality links and bilingual audio narration.
Special VR experience centres at the venue will allow visitors to experience virtual darshan of the state’s Jyotirlingas and immersive wildlife safari experiences.
‘Maa Ki Rasoi’ to Showcase MP’s Culinary Heritage
Visitors and delegates will also get a taste of Madhya Pradesh’s traditional cuisine through the ‘Maa Ki Rasoi’ live counter. The food showcase will feature traditional dishes such as Kodo-Methi Bhaat, Jowar-Bajra Rotis, Mattha ke Aloo, Chakki ka Saag, Nighona, Dal-Bafla, Bhune Bhate ka Bharta and freshly prepared Sil-Batta chutneys.
16 FAM Trips to Showcase MP’s Tourism Destinations
Following the Travel Mart, 16 familiarisation (FAM) trips will be organised for international and domestic delegates, involving more than 200 tourism experts.
The trips will cover major heritage destinations such as Khajuraho, Orchha, Mandu, Maheshwar, Gwalior, Sanchi and Bhimbetka; wildlife destinations including Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna, Satpura and Kuno; spiritual destinations such as Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Chitrakoot and Amarkantak; and adventure and water tourism destinations including Pachmarhi, Chanderi, Tawa and Gandhi Sagar.
Delegates will also experience heritage walks, a Van Vihar bird walk, a Shikara ride on Upper Lake and wellness-oriented yoga sessions in Bhopal.
Tourism Footfall Rises 57% in 2025
According to the Tourism Department, Madhya Pradesh recorded 21.05 crore tourist visits in 2025, marking a historic 57% increase. The state government aims to convert this growth into greater investment, modern tourism infrastructure and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The government is also working to position Madhya Pradesh as India’s leading adventure tourism destination by 2030 and promote it as the “Wildlife Capital of India”, with a focus on conservation-led and eco-friendly tourism.
