India secured fourth place at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with 85 medals (21 gold, 27 silver, 37 bronze), achieving its second-best-ever result. Dominant disciplines included Archery, Shooting, Boxing, and team sports, plus a historic Weightlifting silver.

During the meeting, the athletes gifted Modi with their autographed jerseys, an autographed hockey stick and a shawl. The meeting celebrated the achievements of Indian athletes, coaches and support staff who had participated in various sports during the 2026 Asian Games, which took place between September 19 and October 4.

Though the number of medals won by India is lower than that of its record-winning 106 medals won in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, the 2026 performance is India’s second-best medal performance at the tournament so far. India also retains its place among Asia’s top five nations in sport.
