Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle died on April 12 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital, aged 92. Asha Bhosle was admitted on April 11 with a chest infection and breathing issues. The death of one of Hindi cinema’s most recognisable voices has led to an outpouring of grief from fans and public figures.

Asha Bhosle’s son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news to reporters gathered outside the hospital. Anand Bhosle said, “My mother, Mrs. Asha Bhosle, has passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence Casa Grand, Lower Parel, at 11 am tomorrow. Her last rites will be held at Shivaji Park tomorrow at 4 pm.”
