A Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) team visiting a Jaipur government primary school on Friday was reportedly attacked and prevented from entering by a mob, leading to conflicting claims between CJP leaders alleging BJP involvement and a BJP MLA citing local opposition.

The attack occurred in the Rampura Kanwarpura village in the Bagru Assembly Constituency. The CJP group had been sent by Ashutosh Ranka, who is the co-founder of the CJP.

There were videos at the location showing a mob attacking the group while shouting slogans and allegedly beating the members. The party has claimed that their volunteers were beaten and their vehicles and phones were damaged.

All levels of disgust have been crossed today.

CJP Team Stopped From Entering Village

As per the CJP leaders, the team had intended to visit the government school on receiving complaints regarding the conditions of the school.

Ranka mentioned that the school had been working from a cowshed for several years and the party had made visits to the place before. He stated that even the police had been notified regarding the visit by the team.

But as the team went to the village, it seems that a crowd had surrounded the team and stopped them from visiting the school.

CJP alleged that their team members had been beaten and chased from the place. Ranka stated that his shirt had been torn apart, phones and vehicles damaged.
A female member of the team was allegedly assaulted while another volunteer got his hand broken.

Ashutosh Ranka Blames BJP Workers

He alleged that those affiliated with the BJP were involved in this violence. He requested the media to not point fingers at the villagers saying that others had been brought in order to cause trouble.

He further alleged that one of the councillors of the BJP was seen distributing cash to some of the people who were involved in the altercation. These allegations remain unproven as of yet.

The leader of the CJP mentioned that the party went to the village after being invited by the locals to highlight the condition of the school.

BJP MLA Says Villagers Opposed The Visit

BJP MLA Swami Balmukundacharya gave a different account of the incident.
He said he had been informed that local residents themselves opposed the CJP team’s visit and did not allow the members to enter the village.

According to the BJP MLA, the villagers did not want the CJP to create an atmosphere that could disturb children’s education.

The conflicting claims from the CJP and BJP have turned the incident into a political controversy.

CJP Member Says Women Were Also Targeted

CJP member Shivangi Sharma, who was part of the visiting team, alleged that women volunteers were also abused and assaulted.

Sharma said she was born and raised in the area but was called an “outsider”, “Pakistani” and “Naxal” during the confrontation.

She questioned how someone born in the area could be labelled an outsider and said she was deeply upset by the incident.

Some people who identified themselves as villagers defended the opposition to the CJP visit. They accused the party of being “anti-national” and questioned why it was not carrying out similar activities in other states.

Another villager, however, highlighted the area’s lack of basic facilities, saying residents needed better roads, schools and development.
