A video which captures Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma supposedly slapping a man while inspecting the road in west Delhi is creating a political row.
A viral video shows Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma slapping Sahib Singh, an associate of AAP MLA Jarnail Singh, in Tilak Nagar during an inspection amidst a heated debate over road construction quality, prompting political backlash and a police complaint.
The event happened in Tilak Nagar where Verma came to check the road construction work being done there. It is said that the man who has been slapped by the Minister is named Sahib Singh. He was supposedly making a recording of Verma talking with AAP MLA Jarnail Singh.
It is seen in the video that Verma apparently pulled the phone of Sahib Singh before slapping him.
Argument Over Road Quality Turns Heated
It happened after an argument between Verma and Jarnail Singh about the construction quality of the road. While on the inspection, the MLA was seen removing parts of the newly constructed road with his bare hands. Afterward, he criticized the construction quality and dared the minister to answer the question.

Both leaders argued about the state of the road and the one who should be blamed for its construction.
Singh complained about the poor construction of the road and wondered how long it would last. Verma argued that the road had been well-constructed and that the BJP government had constructed roads after many years of delay.
Initially, both leaders argued verbally until the situation was complicated by the fact that the assistant of Jarnail Singh kept on filming them.
Video Shows Man Being Slapped
As seen in the video, the minister and the MLA from the AAP leave the scene, while the assistant of Singh, named Sahib Singh, is recording the entire incident.
Verma comes closer to the man, takes his mobile phone and allegedly hits him.

There are reactions coming from the people at the site regarding the occurrence. Later on, a security guard comes in between both of them.
This video has gone viral on social media, resulting in a backlash from the AAP leaders.
Victim Files Complaint, Gives His Account
According to an ANI report, Sahib Singh claimed that he was streaming the entire conversation on the social media page of the AAP MLA when this altercation happened.
It was claimed that Verma snatched the phone from his hand and slapped him. It is also being alleged that some people in the security detail of the minister threatened and pushed him.
According to him, he had registered a complaint at the police station giving the names of those who threatened him.
These allegations alone do not form the conclusion of any police investigation yet.
Jarnail Singh And Arvind Kejriwal Attack Verma
AAP MLA Jarnail Singh shared the video on X and accused the minister of losing his temper after the road quality was questioned.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also reacted to the incident and called for Verma’s arrest.
The AAP has used the incident to question the conduct of a serving Delhi minister and demanded action against him.
Parvesh Verma Says He Reacted After Abuse
Verma has defended his actions, saying the confrontation followed alleged abusive remarks about his family.

According to the minister, Jarnail Singh arrived at the site with his workers and the situation became heated. He alleged that one of Singh’s associates abused his family members.
Verma said he reacted in anger after the alleged abuse.
