The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally activated the portal for verification of marks and re-evaluation of Class 12 board examination results after multiple delays. The move comes as thousands of students awaited access to post-result services following the announcement of board exam results.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated its online portal for Class 12 students to apply for marks verification or re-evaluation, following earlier delays. Eligibility requires prior access to answer book photocopies, with fees set at ₹500 per book for verification and ₹100 per question for re-evaluation.

The board has advised candidates to carefully watch the instructional video available on the portal before submitting applications. Detailed guidance has also been provided to help students complete the process correctly.

Portal Goes Live After Repeated Delays

CBSE had earlier announced that the Class 12 re-evaluation portal would open on June 1. However, students were unable to access the portal on the scheduled date, leading to uncertainty among candidates seeking verification and re-evaluation of their answer books.

On Tuesday morning, the board officially activated the portal and informed students that applications could now be submitted online through the official CBSE website.

The board has clarified that only candidates who have already obtained photocopies of their evaluated answer books are eligible to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

Students have also been advised to refer to the subject-wise marking scheme and question paper available on the CBSE website before submitting a re-evaluation request.

Verification and Re-Evaluation Fees

CBSE has fixed the following charges for students seeking review of their results:

  • ₹500 per answer book for verification of marks
  • ₹100 per question for re-evaluation

The board is expected to keep the portal open for at least two days after the final scanned and evaluated answer book is made available to applicants.

How to Apply for Verification of Marks

Students seeking verification of marks can follow these steps:

  • Log in to the CBSE portal.
  • Select the Verification of Marks section.
  • Choose the subject for which you have obtained the scanned copy of the answer book.
  • Select the issue you wish to report:
  1. Missing pages
  2. Missing supplementary answer sheets
  3. Missing graph or map
  4. Blurred scanned answer book
  5. Answer book does not belong to you
  6. Wrong question paper set evaluated
  • Enter the required details related to the issue.
  • Click Save and Continue to Preview.
  • If needed, add another verification request or make corrections.
  • Click Proceed to Payment.
  • Confirm the details by selecting Lock My Request and Pay Now.
  • Complete the online payment.
  • Download the application form.
  • Track the status of your request through the portal.

How to Apply for Re-Evaluation

Students who wish to apply for re-evaluation can follow these steps:

  • Log in and select the Re-Evaluation section.
  • Choose the relevant subject.
  • Enter the question number for which re-evaluation is sought.
  • Mention the page number where the answer appears in the answer book.
  • Enter the marks awarded for that question.
  • Fill in the Marks Claimed field with the marks you believe should be awarded.
  • Clearly explain the reason for requesting re-evaluation.
  • Add additional questions if required.
  • Click Save and Continue to Preview.
  • Review all details carefully.
  • Add another re-evaluation request if necessary.
  • Freeze the application once all information is verified.
  • Complete the online payment process.
  • Download the application form after successful payment.
  • Track the status of the re-evaluation request through the portal.

What Students Should Keep in Mind

CBSE has stressed that students should provide clear and specific reasons while requesting re-evaluation. General or vague explanations may not effectively support a claim for review.

With the portal now live, Class 12 students can begin the process of verifying their marks and seeking re-evaluation of specific answers through the board’s official post-result mechanism.
