Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary said the National Conference meeting on June 3, convened by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is a routine organisational review. Ministers and MLAs will report on departmental work and constituency progress, with discussions covering unemployment, governance delivery, and the status of manifesto commitments.

Choudhary also appealed to political groups to avoid turning development projects into political disputes. The remarks came after Choudhary inaugurated a bridge in the Greater Kailash area. The bridge was damaged during last year’s floods. Choudhary said public welfare should remain the main focus.

National Conference MLAs meeting on June 3

Choudhary said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and party president Farooq Abdullah have called a meeting of all MLAS and ministers. “It is a routine meeting,\” Choudhary said. Choudhary said such meetings are held to assess performance. Choudhary said leaders also discuss problems affecting people.

Choudhary said ministers will be asked to share details of work done by departments. Choudhary said MLAs and party leaders will also check progress in constituencies. Choudhary said the agenda will cover unemployment and governance issues. Choudhary said the group will track what has moved forward.

Choudhary said the meeting will review promises listed in the party manifesto. Choudhary said leaders will examine commitments already met and those still pending. \”It is a normal party meeting, similar to those held by other political organisations,\” Choudhary said. Choudhary said discussions will also focus on improving party coordination.

National Conference commitments and development works

Choudhary said the party will discuss steps to implement commitments made to people. Choudhary said the aim is to ensure work reaches the ground on key issues. Choudhary said the review links governance delivery with what was promised earlier. Choudhary said the party will check gaps in execution.

At the bridge event, Choudhary asked political parties to avoid political messaging around public projects. \”I am here to inaugurate the bridge and then leave. Please do not do politics over this. Our concern should only be peoples welfare and we are accountable for serving them,\” Choudhary said.

Choudhary said the government will work for all sections, regardless of political choices. \”The people have supported the government. Some may have voted for us and some may not have, but that does not mean we will not work for those who did not support us. In Greater Kailash, we did not have a candidate, yet I came here and ensured the bridge was constructed for the convenience of the people,\” Choudhary said.
