Founder Abhijeet Dipke took center stage at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest officially commenced, transforming a satirical online movement into a physical demonstration. Leading the gathering, Dipke directed the energy of students and young professionals towards their primary demand: the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities, specifically concerning the NEET-UG paper leak.

Dipke’s address: turning satire into a movement

Addressing the protesters, Abhijeet Dipke used his speech to redefine the group’s symbolism, linking the “cockroach” moniker to the resilience of the youth. “The youth of the country will no longer fear, they will fight. Cockroaches don’t even fear, they never die either,” Dipke stated to the gathering, punctuated by slogans of “Jai Bhim.” His speech established the tone for the day—one of non-violent but firm defiance against the established system.

At Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, founder Abhijeet Dipke led the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest, demanding Education Minister Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET-UG paper leak. This physical demonstration signified the group’s shift from online satire to advocating youth resilience.

The call for accountability resonated with the crowd, with Dipke positioning the movement as a crucial step beyond internet humor. The protest, which grew from a reaction to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant’s remark, saw Dipke emphasizing that this was the first major physical mobilization for the group, focused on creating a sustained impact rather than a fleeting online moment.

Arrival and on-ground mobilization

The mobilization leading up to the speech began early in the morning. After landing in Delhi from the US at approximately 7:30 am, Dipke was instrumental in guiding the protesters on the ground. Before arriving at the venue, he was seen holding a copy of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s autobiography, a symbolic gesture shared by the party’s social media channels to signal the start of their activity.

Dipke maintained a steady stream of communication with his followers, ensuring a disciplined turnout. “Landed. Looking forward to meet you all at Jantar Mantar. Do not forget to carry a book and our Tiranga! Offer flowers to policemen as a gesture of compassion & gratitude,” he noted on X. As per his guidance, when the protest was granted official permission by Delhi Police, he directed his supporters to abandon the originally planned route to the Parliament Street Police Station and gather directly at Jantar Mantar for the event.

Security build-up and protest dynamics

The event took place amidst heightened security, with Delhi Police deploying personnel across key areas, including Indira Gandhi International Airport and the city borders, to manage the assembly between 10 am and 5 pm. A permission letter accessed by India Today confirmed the CJP’s request had been countersigned by Dipke himself, ensuring the gathering operated within the legal framework permitted by authorities.

The protest featured a mix of emotional testimonies and political demands. A Nagpur resident working on Barakhamba Road, who joined the assembly, noted his intent was to secure the future of his siblings still in school, reflecting the broader concerns of the students present. While the atmosphere remained largely focused on the demands regarding the Education Minister, the event also saw minor skirmishes, including an incident involving a passerby with a “Hit” spray, which authorities were quick to address.

Ultimately, the protest highlighted the evolving nature of digital activism. With Abhijeet Dipke’s leadership and the formal transition into a physical rally, the Cockroach Janta Party underscored that their grievances regarding examination transparency and ministerial accountability remain at the forefront of their agenda.
