As temperatures continue to soar across the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched 13 Mobile Heat Relief Units from the Delhi Secretariat to provide immediate assistance to people affected by the ongoing heatwave. The initiative aims to offer essential relief services on the ground and strengthen the city’s preparedness against extreme weather conditions.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched 13 Mobile Heat Relief Units offering water, ORS, and first aid to combat the ongoing heatwave, alongside releasing a Heat Action Plan Booklet aimed at raising public awareness on safety measures.

Mobile Units To Provide Water, ORS And First Aid

The specially deployed Mobile Heat Relief Units will travel across different parts of Delhi and provide emergency support to residents struggling with the intense summer heat. The facilities being offered through these units include clean drinking water, ORS packets, first aid assistance, and protective items such as cotton gamchas and caps.

The move comes as Delhi continues to witness rising temperatures, increasing concerns over dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke cases, especially among outdoor workers, commuters and vulnerable groups.

Heat Action Plan Booklet Released

Alongside the flagging off ceremony, the Delhi government also released a Heat Action Plan Booklet aimed at spreading awareness about heatwave safety measures and emergency preparedness.

The booklet is expected to guide citizens on precautions that can reduce health risks during extreme heat conditions. Officials said the campaign is part of a broader effort to improve public response and minimise heat-related emergencies across the city.

Government Advises Citizens To Take Precautions

The Delhi government has urged residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and follow proper safety precautions throughout the ongoing heatwave period.

People have also been encouraged to use protective clothing and consume sufficient fluids to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Emergency Help Available Through 112 Helpline

Authorities said citizens in need of urgent assistance during heat-related emergencies can seek help through the 112 emergency helpline.

The government stated that the Mobile Heat Relief Units will work as a rapid-response support system to provide on-ground aid wherever required as Delhi battles extreme summer conditions.
