Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said social media platforms are being used to spread rumours and misleading people against India. While speaking at the 101 years of Kakori Action in Lucknow event, he said that these days misuse of social media to divide Indian society along caste, religious and linguistic lines.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, at the Kakori Train Action centenary in Lucknow, stated social media spreads anti-India rumors and divisions. He urged calling the 1925 incident ‘Kakori Train Action’, honouring revolutionaries like Ram Prasad Bismil, and criticized their post-independence neglect.
Yogi Adityanath On Social Media And ‘Anti-India’ Forces
CM yogi said, “Social media has become a medium for conspiracy.” He also added that “all anti-India forces” are using these platforms to spread rumours and mislead society.
CM also said that India didn’t become a colony without reasons and said that internal divisions and conspiracies have played a role in weaking the country. He said same kind of attempts were being made to exploit differences based on caste, religion and language in India.
CM Raises Forgotten Revolutionaries Issue
CM Yogi Adityanath also criticised as the failure to adequately remember freedom fighters like Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Roshan Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev after Independence.
He alleged that efforts were made to keep away these names and their efforts from younger generations. CM made these remarks during the inauguration of ‘Kakori Train Action Centenary Year’ programme in Lucknow.
What Happened In Kakori In 1925?
The Kakori Train Action took place on 9 August, 1925, when freedom fighters associated with Hindustan Republican Association stopped a train near Kakori and seized government treasury. The operation was made to raise fund for their revolutionary activities against British government.
Later, British government arrested Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Rajendra Lahiri and Roshan Singh in the Kakori incident. Then on 19 December, 1927, Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan and Roshan Singh were hanged, while Rajendra Lahiri was hanged on 17 December.
Why Yogi Wants ‘Kakori Train Action’ Name
CM Yogi also appealed that incident that is popular in the name ‘Kakori Dacoity’ or ‘Kakori Robbery’ case should be called as ‘Kakori Train Action’ as the previous terminology is connected with British.
He has also credited PM Narendra Modi led government to honour freedom fighters and develop their memorials related to Bismil, Roshan Singh and Ashfaqullah Khan since 2014.
