Delhi Metro services will begin at 6 AM on all metro lines on this Sunday, 13 September to help the students who are going to appear for competitive exams. This initiative has been taken by DMRC to make sure students reach their centres on time.
On Sunday, September 13, Delhi Metro services will start at 6 AM across all lines, moved up from the usual 7 AM, to assist students appearing for competitive exams like NDA/CDS reach their centers promptly following coordination between DMRC and Delhi Traffic Police.
Normally, the first metro service starts on Pink, Magenta and Grey lines start at 7 am on Sundays.
DMRC announced it on X while saying, “To facilitate the smooth and timely movement of students appearing for examinations and the general public, Metro train services will commence at 6 am on all lines on Sunday.”

Early Service For NDA/CDS Aspirants
This decision has been taken mainly for students appearing on NDA/CDS examinations so that they can commute easily without any problem. This early Metro service will also help the other passengers who are travelling across Delhi during the early hours.
This move has come after Delhi Traffic Police received a request from CDS aspirants for the availability of Metro service to make sure the candidates reach their examination centres on time.
Delhi Traffic Police Coordinates With DMRC
The Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on X that it took note of the concern and coordinated with the DMRC to make arrangements for candidates appearing for the NDA/CDS examinations.
Following the coordination, the DMRC agreed to start Metro services at 6 am across all lines on the examination day.
Passengers Advised To Plan Their Journey
Students appearing for the examinations, as well as other passengers planning to travel early on Sunday, have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of the early Metro services.
