Student leader and JKLM leader Devendra Nath Mahato has clarified that his hunger strike is still ongoing, despite reports suggesting otherwise. Speaking from the protest site in Ranchi, Mahato said he began consuming only water after speaking with activist Sonam Wangchuk, but has not resumed eating solid food.
Mahato said today marks the fifth day of his hunger strike and accused some sections of spreading “false and misleading” information about his health and protest. He reiterated that he would continue the fast until the students’ demands are fulfilled and the student community in Jharkhand is satisfied with the government’s response.
