Maharashtra Hair Test Report Men s Stress amp amp Sleep Revealed

Maharashtra contributes the biggest state sample in the Traya Hair Test Report and emerges as the exact middle of Indian men’s stress and sleep

The Traya Hair Test Report analyzed 72,000 samples from Maharashtra, revealing men’s stress and sleep patterns. It positions Maharashtra as India’s ‘middle ground’ for these health indicators, highlighting consistent pressure but not extreme strain. Discover what this massive dataset truly means for the state’s men.

No state contributes more to the Traya Hair Test Report than Maharashtra. Of the 4,89,721 men’s hair test responses the report analyses across 20 states and 50 cities, 71,712 come from Maharashtra, the largest state sample in the dataset and nearly one in seven of all responses nationally. What that unmatched sample reveals is a state sitting almost exactly at India’s centre of gravity, in every sense.

23.4% of Maharashtra’s men report disturbed sleep, a shade above the national average of 22.1%, with a further 7.6% reporting slight problems during the night and 69.1% sleeping peacefully. On stress, 7.1% report high stress, just under the national 7.7%, while combined high and moderate stress reaches 56.5% against a national 54.6%. Above average on the whole, extreme on nothing.

Maharashtra in the Traya data

That middle position is itself the story. To Maharashtra’s south, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh post disturbed sleep near 30% and high stress near 10%. To its north, Rajasthan and the heartland report disturbed sleep under 19% and stress readings among the gentlest in the country. Maharashtra, home to the national economy’s twin engines, splits the difference almost perfectly, the hinge on which the report’s stark North South divide turns.

Within the state, the numbers stay tight. The state’s measured geographies cluster within a few points of one another on both sleep and stress, with the Mumbai region running slightly heavier than the rest, consistent with metro patterns nationally, and the interior slightly lighter. Nowhere in Maharashtra approaches the southern extremes, and nowhere matches the heartland’s calm.

The middle India reading

For a state that houses both the country’s financial capital and its most aspirational second cities, the data offers a usable diagnostic. The pressure on Maharashtra’s men is real and measurable, it runs a consistent notch above the national average, and it has not yet reached the levels that the South’s numbers should be warning everyone about. The state is stretched, not strained.

There is also a quieter significance to the sample itself. At nearly 72,000 men, Maharashtra’s contribution to the Traya dataset is larger than most national surveys in their entirety, which makes the state’s middle of the map reading unusually solid. India’s economic engine, by the account of its own men, is working hard, sleeping imperfectly, and holding, for now, the national line.

The full report, including complete state and city tables, is available on the Traya newsroom at traya.health/newsroom, along with the latest Traya news and updates.
