Armed with an MBBS from R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata, an M.S. in Ophthalmology, and the prestigious FMRF (Cornea) fellowship from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, Dr. Sarkar today serves as Senior Consultant in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at leading institutions including Trenetralaya, Fortis, and Puspanjali. He also contributes to medical education as an Associate Professor at IIMSAR & Dr. B.C. Roy Hospital, Haldia, mentoring future ophthalmologists while remaining actively involved in clinical research.
His remarkable academic journey includes over 70 national and 15 international scientific presentations, along with numerous honours for best clinical papers, surgical videos, and research presentations at prestigious ophthalmology conferences. Yet, despite these achievements, Dr. Sarkar believes his greatest reward is witnessing a patient’s smile after regaining vision.
Guided by his personal philosophy of never compromising on quality, science, or patient care, he approaches every surgery with precision and compassion. Supported by his wife, Dr. Hema Roy Sarkar, and their daughter Aishwarya, also unconditional supports from Parents n Sisters and Brother in Laws – Boosting the confidence for Good Work & Science he continues to dedicate himself to advancing ophthalmology while touching countless lives.
