This time United States of America (USA) will host the Football World Cup along with Mexico as Co-host. Mexico will also play the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening game against South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
Ahead of the FIFA Mexico vs South Africa opening match, football fans will be entertained with an extravaganza opening ceremony, where several international artists will perform including Shakira, Burna Boy, Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, J Balvin, and Tyla.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony, featuring artists like Shakira and Burna Boy, will be held at Mexico’s Azteca Stadium before the opening match between co-hosts Mexico and South Africa, starting at 11:00 PM IST.
Some of the other artists like Mana Mexican rock band, Lila Downs, Venezuelan performer Danny Ocean and Los Angeles Azules cumbia group will also entertain over 80,000 people who are expected at the stadium.

Team Mexico aka El Tricolor has been named as favourite for the opening game with experts predicting over 61% winning chances. 21% probability predicts a draw between Mexico South Africa, while only 11% chances say that Bafana Bafana (team South Africa) fans will celebrate tonight.
