Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday visited a newly constructed road in Tilak Nagar that has been marred by corruption under the BJP government. The visit came a day after Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma slapped a youth who had accompanied AAP MLA Jarnail Singh after the poor quality of the same road was highlighted.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal inspected a poorly constructed Tilak Nagar road, alleging corruption. He demands BJP Minister Parvesh Verma’s dismissal and arrest after Verma allegedly slapped a youth highlighting the road’s poor quality.
The AAP Chief inspected the road and questioned the government over its poor construction, showing that the surface could be pulled apart by hand. He demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately dismiss Parvesh Verma, that he be arrested and apologise to the people of Delhi for slapping the youth, and that the road’s construction be thoroughly investigated and those responsible for corruption be sent to jail.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “This road was constructed only a few days ago, yet it is completely coming apart just by hand. We have never seen a road like this being constructed in Delhi. We used to hear about such roads being built in remote villages and areas of the country. Delhi is the national capital. We also led Delhi for 10 years, but a road like this was never constructed during our tenure.”
The AAP Chief contrasted, “The roads built under the AAP Government came with a 5-year guarantee. Clearly, there has been a great deal of corruption in this, and there should be an investigation into where this money has gone.”
Referring to Sunday’s incident, Arvind Kejriwal asserted, “When BJP Minister Parvesh Verma came to Tilak Nagar on Sunday to inspect the newly constructed road, people showed him the road in his presence, and he pulled aside a young man, Sahib Singh, and slapped him. I want to tell him that this is not his father’s country.”
He emphasised, “He cannot go around openly slapping people like this. Parvesh Verma says that he is close to PM Modi. He may be close to PM Modi, but this country belongs to 140 crore people. The day the people of this country take to the streets, they will chase both him and PM Modi out, and beat them up, which is increasingly happening now.”
On the BJP’s outreach to Gen-Z, the AAP Chief said, “Now PM Modi gets up at 12 midnight, makes reels, goes to bhajan-clubbing events and says, ‘I will build a rapport with Gen-Z.’ You will slap Gen-Z and then say that you will build a relationship with Gen-Z. That is why Gen-Z is so angry with you. That is why Gen-Z abuses you. Gen-Z has absolutely no trust in you.”
Demanding action against the minister, Arvind Kejriwal stated, “PM Modi, I demand that you dismiss this minister, have him arrested and apologise to the people. Apart from this, those who have committed corruption should also be sent to jail.”
On Sunday, BJP’s Delhi Government minister Parvesh Verma slapped a young man who had accompanied AAP MLA Jarnail Singh after he pointed out corruption in the construction of a road in Tilak Nagar. Shortly afterwards, Arvind Kejriwal announced that he would visit the road on Monday.
On Monday, he reached the spot along with senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, MLA Jarnail Singh, National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda and a large number of party workers to inspect the road. The young man who was slapped was also present with him during the inspection.
