Amid the anti CEC protest in Delhi and multiple detentions, Actor Prakash Raj has voiced support for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and its protest demanding action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In a video message, the actor questioned the detention of young protesters carrying the Indian national flag and criticised the alleged use of force against demonstrators.

Actor Prakash Raj supports the CJP protest in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, questioning the detention of youth carrying the Indian flag and condemning the use of force, cautioning that such responses might foster calls for regime change.
Referring to the campaign encouraging people to display the Tricolour as a symbol of patriotism, Prakash Raj asked why young people holding the national flag during protests were allegedly being detained, jailed and booked in cases.
He also addressed claims that the protesters were seeking a change of government, arguing that such demands could gain public support if authorities continued to respond to demonstrations in this manner.
‘Har Ghar Tiranga’: Prakash Raj Questions Action Against Protesters
While giving his video statement, Prakash Raj started by posing questions about the meaning of patriotism and the right to demonstrate.
Fraaand .. why are you arresting youth for waving our National Flag #HarGharTiranga #justasking https://t.co/Rvfj5IUdEY

“Har ghar tiranga to show patriotism, to be a deshbhakt,” he opined in reference to the movement of displaying the national flag in homes. “Why is it that those youths carrying that same flag at their demonstrations are facing police?” he asked.
According to him, the Tricolour shouldn’t make one regard the protesters as enemies of the nation. Moreover, he cited Gandhi and the democracy in the country when posing questions about the treatment of protesters.
This happened while the CJP was protesting against the Election Commission demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Prakash Raj Warns BJP Over Youth Anger And Protest Crackdown
Prakash Raj also responded to claims that the protesters were demanding a change of government. He argued that continued action against demonstrators could strengthen public anger and turn demands for accountability into a broader political challenge.
“They will ask for a regime change if you keep behaving like this,” he said in the video.
The actor further referred to the BJP’s reduced tally in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when the party won 240 seats, down from 303 in 2019. He suggested that public dissatisfaction among young people, farmers and their families could influence voting choices in future elections.
Prakash Raj also questioned why young protesters were allegedly being targeted, saying that families would take note of how authorities treated their children. He argued that voters could express their anger through the ballot box.
Demands Release Of Gyanesh Kumar Protest Supporter
Towards the end of the video, Prakash Raj called for the release of a person he referred to as “Gyanu”, apparently in connection with the ongoing protest and detention controversy.
“Release him, produce him before the court,” the actor said, questioning the use of what he described as illegal detention. He also urged the authorities to stop using force against protesters and allow the legal process to take its course.
His message focused on the right to peaceful protest, the treatment of young demonstrators and the importance of electoral accountability. The specific circumstances surrounding the detention mentioned in the video would need to be established through official records and court proceedings.
